Personally I think they should hire a large team devoted to converting VC games into something acceptable to today's standards.
I mean, there's no point in playing Balloon Fight on a system for any extreme amount of time if you can't compare to friends, and what about online Mario Kart 64 or Smash Bros? Or even using the Miiverse's weird version of achievements as bragging rights?
Leaderboards and online are pretty much essential when re-released on other platforms; if Sonic the Hedgehog released on XBLA as just a straight port it wouldn't have sold anything. By doing these updates, they can advertise them on WiiU shop as competitive reliving of the retro years, and even do special events and sales around it. Heck, I'd pay a small fee to upgrade to these if it came to that.

I concur.

Save states are a no no in my opinion, if you can't beat the game like it was supposed to back in the good old days, you need to try harder.

How about if they add checkpoints or unlimited continues (like in Blaster Master)? Nothing sucks more* than getting to the end of a long game with no saves and a game over.

*As far as playing video games.

I don't see this happening

If there is someone who improves the actual VC games it is Sega, not Nintendo.

I wish you can transfer all Nintendo Channel options to the new Wii U account. Things like time played, games, recomendations, etc.

I wish Nintendo would release on update for all the games on Wii VC to allow restore points. I would probably finally be able to beat SMB3. I doubt it would happen though.

Umm, isn't basicly popping up the Wii Menu and going back to the Wii Menu the same thing? Cause when I do that and go back to the game it's right where I left off. So...yay....basicly is a restore point :P

No, a restore point like the one on the 3DS. One where if I die, I can press the home button, click on the restore point and start from where I last put my restore point.

HD Classics I can see happening, but anything else, highly unlikely. I'm hoping by default all Virtual Console games can be played on the GamePad only, without the TV. That would be nice.

I would assume that would be the case and I'm looking forward to being able to do so.
