Topic: Unlocking Kart Parts too fast? Mario Kart 8

Does anybody feel like they're unlocking kart parts way too fast? Today, after booting up the game a message popped up saying I had 2300 coins and that a new kart part was available. Then I played on grand-prix on the flower cup. I wanted the three stars rank so. I quit at the end of the first race because I was going to finish in 3rd place. When I got to the menu screen of MK8 a message popped up saying I had 2400 coins and a new kart part. Seriously??? I didn't even finish a single race and out of the blue got 100 coins. I've played online and I know you can get more than 40 coins there, so it can influence on my total count. I try to make the math on my head but I just can't figure out how I get so many coins/ kart parts. Anyone having the same experience? Sorry for any spelling mistakes.

@ScaryBoo1998 In Mario Kart 8, kart parts are unlocked at 50 Coin intervals, until 1000 Coins, at which point a new part is unlocked every 100 Coins.

I don't feel it. I still have like 4 characters to unlock and I don't have every part. I have beaten 9 cups now, no online play.

I thought the same at first, but there's a LOT of stuff to unlock. Unless you do a lot of four player races it should take quite a while. (I've got Gold on every tournament, and have beaten every staff ghost, but I still have parts to unlock.)

I feel like I've unlocked a lot pretty quickly but then again I have been playing with my brothers and sister.

I unlock a new part roughly every four player grand prix. I still don't have everything though.

Definitely feels that way to me. At first, to unlock the characters, it's just "beat Grand Prix a million times until you get them all". Now it feels like every time I play I unlock a new kart piece. It also seems that the requirements for the gold parts are even easier than they were in MK7, I still haven't gotten those yet.

I kind of noticed that too. Played last night and unlocked parts after two consecutive races. Granted, I was on VS and played races of five tracks, but I'm pretty sure I didn't get 10 coins each time.

I feel like we unlock things more often because there are more things to unlock that in Mario Kart 7 which I never got all the parts because it took to long to unlock things

Even after playing Mario Kart 7 for over 100 hours I never did unlock the gold glider. In this game I can pretty much unlock it whenever I want.

It helps a lot that you can earn coins in time trials on MK8, as I usually practice the courses there before playing the GP's. Not exactly sure, but I must be close to 4000 coins already, and I haven't even done the last 4 time trials or the mirror mode GP's yet. Meanwhile, I only had like 2000 coins on MK7 by the time I was done mirror mode, and I've been playing MK7 for way, way longer and still only have 5300 coins, and you need twice as many for the final part in MK7, so I'll definitely be done with MK8 long before MK7.

i think its ideal the way it is i dont wanna spend forever unlocking all the characters and parts. the only thing its missing is something extra special for 3 staring every grand prix.

The faster I could unlock the Yoshi Bike and Plane Glider, the better. To be honest I really don't care for unlocking stuff in Mario Kart games unless its something special like the Gold parts. I got Mario Kart Wii the summer it came out six years ago, and I still haven't unlocked Dry Bowser, Mii Outfit B and some of the vehicles.

The faster the better... Annoying having to wait forever to actually get the good parts.
That Gold Glider took me like 100 hours (of mostly online) though.

True I'm trying to get the glider now got the other two parts around a week ago.

I stopped playing Mario Kart 8 about a week ago because I just bought Kirby Triple Deluxe, and I've been dabbling in a little bit of Smash Bros. Melee. Now that Kirby's beaten, I'm ready to go back to Kart.
