Obviously this is not Ubisoft as a company tweeting, but a very stupid employee- just like the situation we had with EA a while back. But it does show this industry wide negativity to Nintendo at the moment. For an employee of Ubi to be criticising Nintendo of using free DLC is quite ridiculous seeing how Ubisoft have used both paid DLC and product placement in their games. Plus it doesn't help convince Wii U owners that Ubisoft is respecting Nintendo, or that their business decisions are done without any malice.
It also points out companies shouldn't put a wally in charge of their twitter if they're going to post their personal opinions about companies ubisoft have nothing to do with.
Isn't it obvious that Falco Lombardi is actually a parrot?
It's free to the consumer, so they're not hindered.
It benefited both Nintendo and Mercedes-Benz with increased sales. Nintendo also probably made some money in advertising.
Making a game on dead Michael Jackson kinda broke the magic more in my opinion, UBI.

So people cant say anything anymore without offending someone? I don't even think he is necessarily wrong and it is just the opinion of an individual anyway.

There's nothing wrong for saying that, but those are things that you don't say on a company's Twitter page. Save it for your own.

The problem is that he's using the company's official twitter account to say that, which makes people think the post represents the views of the company and not the individual.
EA pulls support, then someone hijacks an official account and makes controversial comment... Ubisoft does the same... I can't help but ponder if it's all just coincidental routine.
Nintendo? They already taken part in the "evils" of the industry so this doesn't matter.

The thing Nintendo got fined for by the EU for is about as bad as it gets (And there is absolutely no way any legal people in Europe employed by them didn't know about it).

Freedom of the press is for those who happen to own one.
Although that rogue employee went about it in a very questionable way, I can't help but think he is simply echoing what some of us are feeling. Allowing real world advertising into what was traditionally a very walled garden is very immersion breaking and a slippery slope. Hopefully this employee will not get fired.
I don't see the big deal about the optional Mercedes DLC. No-one is compelled to download it unless they wish to.
You statement is somewhat false. If you want to play online, you must download the update which contains the DLC.

I'm pretty sure it has been confirmed that the DLC is already included in the update.
