"We have another couple of products that we are waiting to launch, specifically we have one game that we wait for the machine to be more mass market to launch."
Guillemot declined to say how many Wii U would have to sell to make releasing the games worthwhile.
"We don't have a number," he said. "We need the sales to increase so it becomes more and more mass market then we will have the volume that will justify massive marketing and TV marketing."
Does he think that day will ever come, I asked.
"I hope so," he said. "We have a game that has been done for six months. It's on the shelf, waiting for more families to have the console."
I don't blame them, Nintendo's demographic haven't been buying 3rd party games since the early 90's.
That's not entirely true. Alot of the Nintendo, Atari, and Sega gamers moved on Playstation during that time frame(90's), and that still effects Nintendo, to this day.
People were just buying more Playstations, because the games that did show up on N64 and GCN still sold decently, considering how many people actually had each respective console.
EDIT: Also, DS and 3DS have sold way more 3rd party games than PSP or PS Vita. Monster Hunter 4 has sold more in Japan than PS Vita's entire library, worldwide.
Well, they almost came out and said it. We all know what the 3rd parties are thinking, though. It's less the hardware that's the issue, it's the sales, and more importantly, the install base. With 20 million Wii U sales, even Ubisoft's greatest games would hardly be guaranteed over 1 million in sales. I'd love to see the Wii U pick up and a potential port of AC Unity make it to the system, but I'm not holding my breath, which is too bad. I would love to play that with all my friends.

Put me in the Playstation camp in the early 90s. Nothing on the PS2 or GameCube impressed me, though the price drop on the GameCube did tempt me a bit. The Wii had a lot of fun stuff going on - especially the not-another-joypad controller approach.
A) Sitting on a finished product is a waste of resources
B) Why does every game need a massive marketing push, Ubisoft? Maybe it's a kind of game you shouldn't have invested your resources into in the first place?
You've come so far, Ubisoft, so why do you insist on taking steps back?
My guess is Ghost Recon Phantoms. For a free-to-play game install base is even more important, which would be a good reason to hold off on it. Plus they never officially cancelled the project, as far as I know.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Ubisoft ... I don't know what to say. Good, I guess? From a business perspective it may not make sense for them to release another game on the Wii U right now, but honestly, what is the magic number they are waiting for? What is our install base at now? Around 6 million? Does it need to be 10 million? 20?
Also, as a PC gamer, Ubisoft leaves a bad taste in my mouth with their practices (separate from mostly very good games). Uplay is a plague on PC gaming, and you don't need to look any further than Watch Dogs' PC release to see how little this company cares about certain iterations of its games. Ubisoft - if you don't care much for the PC crowd, stop giving us lip service and just concentrate on consoles.
