Zombi U was an amazing game. Have you played it all the way through? And not expecting it to be CoD with Zombies, that is?
Pretty sure masterpiece was not mentioned in any of the 50 or so reviews.
The game is widely recognized as being average. Someone personally believing the game is an objective masterpiece is simply untrue. You can really enjoy a game that receives less than stellar reviews, but if you honestly believe it will even be mentioned in the top Wii U games or ever mentioned again after this generation, you are off your rocker.
... you never answered my question. Have you played it all the way through?
My personal opinion is irrelevant. You're missing my point here.
I personally think MLB Power Pros is one of the best games on the Wii. Am I intelligent enough to realize its not a masterpiece or even widely regarded as being one of the best games? Of course.
I'm not sure why I would form an objective analysis that disagrees with every critical analysis of the game, regardless of what I think. The game was an (edit: I'll even place 'above' here) average launch title, claiming it is a 'masterpiece' is a vast hyperbole.
Well then I'm guilty of "vast hyperbole." I thought it was an amazing game. And I'm not "missing" your point. The point is that you really can't offer one: you haven't played the game.
Then your definition of 'masterpiece' must encompass nearly every game with an aggregate review score of over 75.
Even I can recognize GW2 and BF3 have serious flaws that hold the games back, and I've played each for a ridiculous amount of time. Considering them a 'masterpiece' is being very, very generous.
From what I gather, every game you enjoy you call a masterpiece.
@AlexSays
Sorry, man/madam, I don't even look at aggregate review scores.
"From what I gather, every game you enjoy you call a masterpiece." I'm glad you can come to such an assumption after reading:
"Zombi U was an amazing game. Have you played it all the way through? And not expecting it to be CoD with Zombies, that is?"
"... you never answered my question. Have you played it all the way through?"
and
"Well then I'm guilty of "vast hyperbole." I thought it was an amazing game. And I'm not "missing" your point. The point is that you really can't offer one: you haven't played the game."
You have a true gift for creating conclusions. Carry on.
You're beginning to Strawman, Alexsays. Just saying. If you're gonna callout people like SCAR on it, might as well expect to be called out yourself.
How? I am exactly following his logic. There is a difference between really liking a game, and claiming it is a shining beacon for its genre.
The reasoning I'm seeing is that the game should be regarded as a masterpiece because someone believes it is amazing. The vast majority of user reviews and critic reviews do not share this sentiment, so why should the rest of us?
I cannot pick a game I think is amazing, and slap it with such a highly regarded title, and then expect other people to share my viewpoint.
I can't believe we're even going down this road, but since we are, how do we explain the vast majority of user reviews? And you can pick any site, not just that one.
I'm assuming people that wrote the reviews played the game. Why are they not seeing the light
I cannot pick a game I think is amazing, and slap it with such a highly regarded title, and then expect other people to share my viewpoint.
That's how it is on NintendoLife these days. If you don't like a game that someone else enjoys (or a vast majority enjoy), you're labeled as wrong, ignorant, and most importantly, a troll.
I hope you're enjoying your stay.
