My thoughts exactly. GTA is better suited for individuals who don't care much for thinking, would rather just kill old ladies and police officers. Watch_Dogs is looking to be much more of a thinking man's game.

Why is he teaching at a school and not a university?

I would have to respectfully disagree..
There's a teacher at my school who teaches AP Physics B/C/AP Stat/Geology and has taught many other forms of math/science in the past (including Calc, biology, chemistry, weird forms of discrete math, etc.). He went to college at like 12 or something, both of his parents are rocket scientists, and he's incredibly smart. Just today he calculated the square root of 13 to like 6 decimal places in about 10 seconds in his head. He can recite the atomic mass of any element in a matter of seconds. He can calculate how long it would take a penny to hit the ground from the top of Sears tower in his head. HE told us how much he was enjoying GTA V. I have seen living proof that geniuses can enjoy GTA. He also enjoys Saints Row III.

(He even waited to start class while two of my friends were playing Melee after the lunch bell rang...he's the coolest and one of most ridiculously smart teachers ever!)

Haha, this is awesome! Can't wait for Watch Dogs. Chicago is a fantastic city to mess around this and a great setting for the game IMO.

Well he teaches for a very rigorous magnet program at my school for highly gifted students. The classes are college-level anyway (I have a 4.8 GPA because of them hehe). He seems like he's still a teenager at heart, so maybe that's why he chose our school over a university. To be honest he could be a university teacher, but he's still pretty young. Many universities keep their professors until they're a very old age. But it's very common to hear that his students get accepted into prestigious universities such as Harvard, Yale, and Princeston.

ANYWAY, I'm getting pretty off-topic

My point is that intelligent people can enjoy Grand Theft Auto just as much as the next guy

@PloXyZeRO That's awesome a teacher that plays GTA. Back in school, my teachers always talked about how GTA corrupts the minds of children. I've been playing GTA since I was 9, and I'm a decent person. I'm not killing people or doing outrageous activities. GTA is not a bad game, video games are for entertainment, and GTA is one entertaining game.

I think anyone would be happy for their title to earn 1/10th of what GTA V is going to pull in when all is said and done.

Um, if you actually play GTA (as in trying to progress the story), you'll find they're actually somewhat intelligent games. They're pretty strict, gameplay-wise, and the story can actually be thoughtful, especially when viewed as satires.

Of course, this is if you can get past that the satire is often as subtle as being shot in the face repeatedly. With a rocket launcher.

I must have missed the part where Ubisoft "challenged" Rockstar.

They just mentioned or referred to GTA in some marketing.

Movies do this all the time when there's a breakaway blockbuster (most recently I can remember some smaller movies doing comical Avengers-"themed" commercials when Avengers was destroying the box office).

Ubisoft isn't stupid. They know that Watch_Dogs, even if it is a genuine hit, isn't going to come even close to an insanely anticipated entry in a very popular and established franchise. They're simply doing some smart marketing — "Have fun with GTA now folks! And by the way, in a couple months when you're looking for a new open-world style game, pick up Watch_Dogs!"

But of course this is teh interwebs, and gamers on teh interwebs always feel the need to start some sort of pishing contest, as if such things actually matter to anyone.

I hope Watch Dogs does very well on all platforms, i like the idea of the hacking aspect & how it crosses over into multiplayer bluring the single player & online together. If you choose to play online that is, while your playing the single player story someone can enter your game & hack data. I also like the tablet interaction and how effects the other player game, what gameplay footage i've seen is also impressive. The detail in the game & sound effects, like when you get into the car. All the sounds effects like when your getting into real car, with the rain hitting the car roof. Then there is the game itself & how you play it, the moral aspect, do you kill or knock out the person & how you go about playing the game etc. I love open world games & RPG's because you choose the way you play, you also have the freedom to go where ever you want etc, i also think RPG's ,MMO's & open world games are going to play more of a bigger role this gen.

That's a fair and valid point, and I would like to be given a chance to change my statement. GTA V can be played and enjoyed by intelligent people - however, I think it stands that it's predominately played by people who would rather run around in a virtual world murdering virtual old ladies and virtual police officers. On the other hand, Watch_Dogs appears to garner more mental stimulation, on the count of the smartphone mechanic that essentially controls the city, which will likely be used to trigger elaborate sequences of events that have to be planned out to at least a small degree. On the contrary, the game play in GTA V consists of shooting and robbing people, driving vehicles, and running. Not quite as much brainpower is needed to accomplish these tasks, which is why the less enlightened might prefer to play GTA to Watch_Dogs.
