This one time, a Nintendo Life user retold part of the Hobbit in an attempt to troll the creator of this thread. Real Story.
On another note. I just assume every Little Mac user is a troll in Smash Bros. Funny part of the story? 99% are easily beaten with their own troll tactics :3
If Internet Trolls are bothering you, the best thing you can do is ignore them and move on.
If someone has an opinion different from yours that you two are arguing for a few pages, agree to disagree and move on. They're not trolls, just other people with a different opinion.

I went to a forum where a guy would be a total jerk to everyone in the chatbox, but the mods would look the other way because they were friends with him and he'd always make excuses for why he'd be a jerk. He'd also be nice to people every once in a blue moon.
How'd I deal with it? Since calling out the guy got me in trouble and mods would simply rolls their eyes and tell me to just "deal with it", I simply stopped going there. And now that forum is a haven for spambots. They got a new forum, but oddly enough, no one seems to use the chatbox anymore except the troll.
Only one that comes to mind was a GNAA guy trolling Freenode #openwrt using irc autoflooders and loads of bots.
(Think it was something to do with him getting hacked and blaming Openwrt for it even though they fixed it and something he was using that ripped it off never actually updated it).

When i was new on Youtube way back in 2009, there was some troll named SonicBoom405. He had a list of LOTS of people to block (I was one of them.) and made fun of some kid with a disability named Jesse. He also hated supermariologan, a guy who got instant fame just from making plush videos of Mario and Woody. He made so many threats to me that I just gave him a big FU to him. Of course, my only solution was to stop talking to him. Eventually i got over him and he's barely on Youtube anymore. I still go to Youtube every now and then with my new account. I'm glad NL exists.

i ban them. that part's usually over quickly enough, cut and dry.
but then i get to deal with fallout from users who thought they should've been banned ever since they signed up, users who felt they didn't deserve to be banned at all, users complaining about the number of spambots making it to the forums, users complaining that their freedom of speech has been infringed upon by our having deleted equally nasty responses to whatever the troll happened to post, users who want to post passive-aggressive comments about how the forums and site are moderated, and then maybe the troll themselves will send us something to try and Eddie Haskell their way out of their well-earned ban. or they may choose to wax loquacious about how many times they slept with my mother and/or what bruises they would inflict upon my person if they ever met me IRL.
that's usually how troll activity goes down around here IME.
