I don't see how this is acceptable. If this was any other console there would be an outcry.

An outcry won't solve anything. Nintendo can't force 3rd parties to release their games for Wii U. If it starts to sell, they will come. If it doesn't sell, they won't.

No, but it would show that there is a demand for the games on the System.
Reggie did state that even though there was an outcry for Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower it was business as usual for the States. Reason why Xenoblade was a Gamestop exclusive and The Other 2 games were released via 3rd Party Publishings.

BUT WHAT ABOUT EUROPE?

Nintendo of Europe TOOK the opportunity and Localized AND Publish all three games and REWARDED Gamers who bought all three games with THREE BEAUTIFUL Gold Coins to Club Nintendo Members who REGISTERED all three games in Europe.
That is what I am talking about! That helps!

Dark Souls was not going to be on PC, but an Outcry from gamers showed up in Petition Sites and caught the eyes of From Software. With that they decided to take the risk and make port the game on Steam via Games for Windows Life. Because of this they got their feet wet in PC gaming and now they're developing their next game for the system!

Earthbound according to the Nintendo Direct was released internationally because of our whining on Miiverse.

If we don't show Demand we won't get the games we want for the System.
Some of the Games I have stated have Publishers stating the sole Reason why the game is not released on the WiiU is because there is low demand.
There was no reason why WiiU should have missed Metal Gear Rising, seeing how Bayonetta 2 is coming up, Ninja Gaiden 3 was a Launch Title and Platinum Games was coming up with not just 1 title but 2 for the system. It was an Easy Release yet Konami stated that they didn't put the game on the system because there was no demand for it on the system.

Dark Souls 2 will see Xbox 360 and PS3 releases, but not WiiU because WiiU users are not an Audience for Dark Souls. WiiU has freakin' Miiverse which can act like the Orange Stone feature from Dark Souls! Wind Waker has that! ZombiU has functions from Dark Souls! Even Mario can use Dark Souls like functions! and The Audience is "DIFFERENT"??

If we show concern and demand we can possibly get some software running on the system it would show Nintendo their audience has changed and it'll show 3rd Party that we would like to have their games on this system. Doing nothing just makes us drones and that we will like anything Nintendo gives us, which is sadly what I see has happened to the Nintendo Fanbase.

^ It won't help now, but the other manufacturers (specifically Sony) went to third-party developers BEFORE their systems were designed and asked them what they would like to see in their new console. Nintendo on the other hand just did everything themselves internally, then handed out the dev kits and said 'Here ya go!'. Not saying that had Nintendo worked with third-parties from the start that they would have gotten all those games, but it certainly would have gone a long way towards building goodwill with companies who don't really deal with them.

They DID get 3rd Party Developers to help them out on Hardware. They flew reps from Activision, Ubisoft, and EA down to Japan and gave out their input on Nintendo's Hardware.

Did you forget the big mentionings in ALL of Nintendo Conferences before WiiU's release? Ubisoft was to bring a Ghost Recon to the WiiU with Tablet Functions and such, EA was to be a BIG Publisher for WiiU and Activision even stated Black Ops 2 was going to be the Definitive version on WiiU. (they did this with 3DS too.)

What ended up happening was pretty much the opposite of the 3DS. While most games showcased for the 3DS eventually saw release, Ubisoft has yet to release Ghost Recon on WiiU (though they're the top supporter of WiiU right now), Activision completely BAILED out on WiiU support for Call of Duty (still waiting for that DLC), and EA left the deal entirely and it's unlikely we will see another game from EA on a Nintendo system.

You know, the same thing has happened to most of Nintendo's hardware. It launches, everyone wails about the inevitable doom and gloom that any day will rain down on the company. Then, out of nowhere, it becomes a classic. (Even the GameCube was a moderate success.) As for those 3rd party games, most of them are garbage. A lot of those companies don't even take the time to properly port their games over, then when they get bad reviews or people point out that their games are garbage they pull the cord. If you want 3rd party games, get yourself an Xbox/PS4/PC. I buy Nintendo hardware for Nintendo Software, and for the occasional exclusive masterpiece (Little King's Story, Xenoblade Chronicles, the list goes on...). FPS games haven't done well on Nintendo since 007/Perfect Dark. I like that. FPS games are crap.

I do recall all that press conference stuff (especially EA, who then backed out because Nintendo wouldn't implement their Origin system as their online platform) but never once do I remember anyone from those third-parties saying they were part of the development of the console. The PS4 reveal was all about how closely the developers worked with Sony to shape the design of the console, with that being the selling point. THIS was the system software developers wanted. I don't recall that same response coming from them when the Wii-U was announced. Sure, they pledged support because it was a new console, but it was nothing like the response the PS4 garnered.

Do you think if third parties had input into the design of the Wii-U, they would have encouraged Nintendo to go forward with the gamepad? It's a flawed concept.

Here's an interview with the VP of Marketing from Bethesda where he specifically states that Nintendo didn't work with developers when designing the Wii-U, while Sony and Microsoft did...

Selective hearing after the fact. Of course they're not convinced of the Wii U, the only thing that convinces third parties to develop for a platform is revenue potential. When devs rant about how difficult a platform like the Wii U is all they're really saying is that they don't think it's worth the effort. It's purely about the money. Same thing happened last generation if you do remember. Early on every dev was making a big deal about how much harder it was to make games for the PS3. There was some truth in that but as soon as it started to sell they came running back.

As for the gamepad being a "flawed concept"... really? Give me a break. Half of these guys are making games with tablets companion apps in mind these days. The guys who do make games for Wii U usually just put the HUD on there and allow off-TV play. That's not a challenge. It's not like there's the technical barrier and weird controls that there was when Nintendo had the Wii. They literally have the same buttons.

If the Wii U is such a hastle to develop for then logically the PS4 is also with it's touch controls and colour light thingo on the front. Surely the XBOne is hard because of it's trigger rumble. What a load of BS.

Isn't that exactly what makes the gamepad a flawed concept from a marketing and development standpoint. From a marketing oone I've found that people still don't realize its a system and just think its a tablet add on usually mad they can't buy it aepertaly, or say they're going to pass it up for a iPad or a kindle.

From a development standpoint developers are dumb lazy so while they don't mind developing for smartglass or iOS/android. Its telling that the best part of maden on Wii U is a smart glass feature for Madden xbox one.

You get what you pay for. If you don't buy games, you don't get games. Don't support third party or new ips, you don't get such. You want games? Buy games.

I'm looking through that list and none of those games can really be described as crap. Also a proper list would just start by games coming out this year at this point, no use about crying about games not coming last year.

@Spoony - Half those games aren't out yet, so you can't say they're crap. I could care less if you played a game and thought it was crap, but you can't say something so definitive about something you haven't even tried yet.

@Spoony A lot of those games are crap? You must describe Superman 64 as being stellar if you think those are crap.

I said A LOT of those games are crap. Also, they are geared more towards the meathead market. Also known as the Xbox/PS4/PC fans. You nerds get your panties in a bunch about these games not coming to the Wii U and then want to bash on the console/gamepad. Then go buy something else. Get a PC/PS4/Xbox and move on. If your mommy and daddy bought you a Wii U and you are upset about it, (sunglasses lower onto face) DEAL WITH IT.

The Wii U is awesome.

Also, write some fanboy letters to those companies begging them to bring the crap games you want to the system.

^Dude, if all you're gonna do is be abrasive, people are gonna stop taking you seriously (in fact, it's probably too late). Just sayin'.

It is too late. Not the type you can have a conversation with about anything.

As much as I dislike most of the games on that list, I can't agree that they are "crap" as you put it. I may be a fanboy, but I'm not blind.

However I will say that many of those titles fit into a similar genre/theme.

I don't think I was all that abrasive. You called me out and then I responded. If you don't like responses, then why forum? Anyway, I am a fanboy in my own right. I love Nintendo. When I come to NintendoLife it bothers me to see people who cry about not getting the games they want on the system. Well, go buy the system that has the games you want then. It's that simple. Or put your writing prowess to better use and contact those companies and show fan support for bringing them to the Wii U.

There are definitely enough games unless you aren't in school and are not currently employed and all you do is play games. IF that's the case you may want to get a PS4

There are a good amount of great games on the Wii U. You might not get to be as violent as you want, but they are still great games. Super Mario 3D World, The Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, Game & Wario, Deus Ex (violent), ZombieU (uber violent), Assassins Creed IV (uber violent), and Rayman Legends just to name a few.
