Easy choice for me. I still have a few I've not sunk much time in (Pikmin 3, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze., etc.), but here are my top five in no particular order.
1. Splatoon
2. Mario Kart 8
3. Smash Bros
4. Bayonetta 1&2
5. Yoshi's Woolly World (although I'm only a couple of worlds into it ATM, it's a pretty solid title)

"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"
5. Super Mario 3D World
4. Splatoon
3. Mario Kart 8
2. Super Smash Bros for Wii U
1. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
I haven't played many Wii U games. I'm sure there are games better than Super Mario 3D World. I do like it, yes; but I felt it was lackluster for a Mario game. The game is far too easy and there is nothing to set it apart from other games in the series except for multiplayer. But, that means nothing if you have no one to play with. No innovations or unique concepts in how you play it like in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Sunshine.

@CanisWolfred: The level designs were pretty cool in that game, but the levels were far too easy for me. The level design of Super Mario Galaxy wowed me and the levels were a challenge at the same time. But yeah, I can definitely appreciate the level design in 3D World.

IMO, a platformer lives and dies by its level design, and Super Mario 3D World had the best levels I've ever played in a Mario game, bar none.
I'm not sure I'd agree with that (mainly because the Galaxy games are right there to compare it to), but they are easily the best of the new age retro Mario games.
I honestly didn't like a lot of the levels in Super Mario Galaxy, especially the bonus levels. They were very frustrating, sometimes in ways I could do nothing about (i.e. bad camera angles preventing me from seeing what I'm doing during one of those parts where you had to slingshot Mario around). Not to say they were terrible, but there were more levels I didn't really like than ones I did, whereas I have yet to run into a level in Super Mario 3D World world I didn't love.
1. Super Mario 3D World
2. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
3. Pikmin 3
4. Splatoon
5. Mario Kart 8
I've only had my Wii U for a few months, so I haven't played a lot of games on the console. The only Wii U game I've played that didn't make my list was Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. It's fun, but a little awkward to play. I could see Wind Waker HD making the list once I play it because of how much I liked WW on the GameCube.

And the sharpness/polish of the mechanics, but yeah. SM3DW is my favorite Mario game since SMB3 and it's almost entirely due to the sheer brilliance of the level design.
