Stoked to hear the 3DS version is hitting this summer!

Also glad that Charizard is becoming it's own fighter, because it deserves it! (though that new ninja frog Pokémon looks like it could be pretty awesome as well).

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

I don't think the latter release window for the Wii U version is a good thing, considering its a struggling console.........now it will have to compete with holiday season heavy hitters for the new consoles (and thus the consumers attention and cash).

I'll buy the 3DS version for sure, I can't say I will do the same for the Wii U, despite the lush visuals. If they released at the same time, it would be the other way around.

Pretty good, but also rather disappointing. The only new character shown was a boring sixth gen Pokemon.

And it's awfully strange that they are releasing the 3DS version first. That certainly won't help Wii U sales. Though of course the Wii U version will be better. I'm still not convinced the controls are going to work on the 3DS. But it does look great.

Well, Four other returning characters were confirmed, three as their own characters with new full movesets.

Bloop.

Loved everything except the character reveals. I rate Charizard and Greninja 2 Mega Men and Little Macs out of 10. Pokemon already has enough exposure in this series. I was looking forward to seeing some expansion of something like Fire Emblem or Kid Icarus, or something from Namco (Pacman? Lloyd?) since they're assisting in the development. I'm actually more excited about Zero Suit Samus and Shiek than Charizard and Greninja.

But everything else was fantastic. Shash Run and Online Play look great. Items and Pokemon look great. Assist trophies look great. Stages look great. Everything looks great!

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

You guys are assuming Smash is a console seller, historically it hasn't been so i don't see the big deal. I was suprised at first but it makes sense when you think about the wider picture. Delaying the completed 3DS version for months in the hopes the Wii U version will move Wii U's seems like a fools gamble.

In anycase i originally planed to get both anyway so i'm happy .

I am psyched! I am super glad with everything the direct announced! I'm loving the solo transformation characters (Zelda/Sheik, Samus/Zero Suit Samus), the new characters (Charizard and Greninja), Smash Run, Custom Movesets for offline play, and everything else such as the new final smashes and more! I will DEFINITELY be getting both versions ASAP! (When they release of course)

I get the impression that they are saving at least one Wii U-specific game mode for a later announcement, perhaps at E 3.

Sure, but Zero Suit, Yoshi and Sheik were all pretty much guaranteed. And introducing Charizard is really just scrapping Squirtle and Ivysaur.

A new Pokemon was guaranteed, but Greninja is sort of dull. Though so are most new Pokemon in general I suppose. Even Lucario was dull.

Laughing at the WiiU version being later, cared more about the 3DS version anyway.

Yeah, with the February ND and now this, it's kinda subtle hints that Nintendo is prioritizing the 3DS over the Wii U.
