Also, I would like to see real time weather events in the next AC game. Animal Crossing already utilizes real time in it's games, might as well have an option that uses the internet to determine real time weather. If it's raining wherever you live in real life, it will be raining in your game. Snowing IRL? Snow in the game...etc.
Of course, this could be an option that gets turned Off when booting up the game each time.
Just some thoughts, later~
In City Folk, the weather channel/show pulled the weather info off of the Wii's Forecast Channel.
No, it didn't. Here's an interview with Katsuya Eguchi, the lead producer, that talks about how the idea was discussed but ultimately never used.
Just a thought... What if Nintendo charged a monthly fee for playing Animal Crossing U and used it to develop new content for the game. Would that be ok with you?
I actually can't wait for this to be made a real thing. I haven't ever really played an Animal Crossing game but my cousins have and they speak very highly of it so...
Probably unlikely. Animal Crossing seems to be better on handhelds
Actually an always-online version of Animal Crossing where you could freely roam others' towns, trade items, participate in events and such would make a lot of sense.
Nintendo could also release an app for 3DS and smartphones which you could use to get gifts from walking certain distance or playing minigames and managing your city on the go.
It's silly, but those "steps coins" actually made me walk a lot more than I used to, since it actually gived me something for a little bit of effort.
Considering Animal Crossing hasn't missed a console since the Gamecube (arguably, since the N64), I'd say the odds of an Animal Crossing U are insanely high. (For reference, Animal Crossing was first released in Japan on April 14th, 2001. It was then remade from the Gamecube, eight months later. There was a deluxe version for the Gamecube that utilized the Gameboy Advanced in some capacities. Then, Animal Crossing: Wild World was released on the Nintendo DS, about a year after launch. Animal Crossing: City Folk was next, about two years after the Wii's launch, and now we have New Leaft, which was about a year and a half after the 3DS's launch.)
Speaking of launches, I'd say that if we're getting AC U, we should expect it early, 2015. Roughly two years after launch fits the meta to a T, and Japan would likely get it the Winter before.
This is exactly why Dragon Quest X isn't outside of Japan, people when it comes to Nintendo consoles don't want to pay for DLC or online services yet they willingly fork over the beans to Microsoft and Sony and PC products that offer the same.
If there's one thing I'd like to see, it's for the game to not punish players for not playing all the time. We're sorry that we have other things to do in life.

I really hope the reason why this game hasn't been announced or revealed is because Nintendo is thinking of many ways to keep the gamer interested in playing. I love games like these and Harvest Moon.
I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

I think it is because Nintendo learned their lesson about announcing things too soon. I bet they want it to be more of a surprise hit. Like announce it at E3 2015 for Winter 2015 or early 2016
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

It's a little strange though. As Animal Crossing is a game with infinite replay value, it is a game that's perfect as a launch title, or an early game in the console's lifespan. Releasing Animal Crossing near the end of the Wii U's lifespan, seems out of place to me. It's probably not coming in 2015, so we'll have to wait and see what E3 2015 will offer.
I think they should make it so that there's a park to meet up with other people around the world and chat to them, you can build the city anyway you want, plus the villages are bigger
I will update this when Half Life 3 arrives. [Started 17/11/2015]

Yeah, remember New Leaf? Announced in 2010, released in 2013

With Animal Crossing characters being in the May 2015 DLC of Mario Kart 8, there's some speculation about Animal Crossing U coming 2015.
I really hope so. I skipped the 3DS version in hope of a Wii U version, and I don't care if it's just New Leaf HD as long as they bring it out soon!
Animal crossing is not good as a console game for me. I got bored of city world so quick. The best way to play it for me is on a handheld while there's a TV in the background. Because most of the time the game doesn't require your 100% attention. Thankfully with the wii u that issue wouldn't exist for me!
Without extensive online components, I don't think I can get interested in this series again. I don't want to have to have a friend with the game to enjoy it online.
I remember analyzing the launch dates for previous Animal Crossing titles and finding that if the Wii U title were to follow the pattern of the last three, we'll be seeing it next Spring and may get an announcement in December. However, I don't think they have the resources, so expect a release in 2016, instead.
Animal crossing for Wii U would be awsome like thing about it new stuff new caricature plus you could make more friends come over like 6 more friends over if a lot of friends wanted to come over
