Nintnedo (sic) is always very bad w/ dates though.

That's why they never announce a firm date until the last moment. And i've never seen them miss that date.

You've never seen them miss a firm date? Then watch this, I don't know how much firmer Reggie could have made the date the way he presented it either:

You are right about the entire industry being bad w/ dates the last few years, about 10 years for SquarEnix, and while that may be an excuse, the fact is dates are never etched in stone, so no point in believing anything Nintedo, or anyone else, says.

Oh, and thanks for the (sic), always meant to Google that, now I know.

You seem act as if this is something new. It's been the same for every Zelda; during the first E3 we get a little teaser; the second year we get the actual trailer at E3, followed by its release during holiday.

So if at E3 2014 is the little teaser and at E3 2015 is the actual trailer and it gets released the same year during holiday, would not that make Zelda U for 2015? And what I am saying (and I know I am not the only one) is that it will be released on 2016. This is Nintendo's first new HD Zelda, and an open world at that, so it makes sense if they break that cycle because of a longer and more expensive development cycle.

I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.

If they add a game to Mario Maker as @rjejr suggests, they will get the "Yay, yet another Mario" reaction, so I don't really see it as more than a tool for making Mario levels, as the name implies.

They don't add a game to Mario Maker, they add Mario Maker to another game I was mostly kidding around when I wrote that but you do bring up a good point about "Mario overload" that did occur to me after I wrote that. And while Mario ovrload is a problem, I also feel it's ok If you look at Wii U 2 years in compered to Wii or 3DS. I bet Wii U has the least amount of Mario games over that intial 2 year time period. No Paper Mario, no Mario Super Slugger, No Mario Strikers. We do have NSMBU, MK8 and SM3DW but none of the offshoots. I wouldn't mind seeing Mario Maker as a bonus inside an RPG type game like the handhelds keep getting every couple of years.

LBP3 has a level editor 16 layers deep built on top of a story driven game, Disney Infinity 2.0 Toy Box edition is an entire open world builder - only $20 as a download if you own Disney 1. I just don't see a 2D Mario stage builder as a complete game. SSBU has a Stage builder and that's such a small part of that game it's almost forgotten. Im ok if it's a $15 DL, but not $60, or even a price friendly Captain Toad $40. But as you pointed out before, what have we seen since E3? Anything? I don't think we have.

I lean towards the eShop option, similar to Pushmo World. Size is not a concern as it was with Wiiware, and you will need the internet connection anyway to share levels. Maybe they could release a disc version for $30. If they are doing it with NES Remix they can do it here. Or they could even add Amiibo support and include a Mario Amiibo in the package to make it more attractive?

Again, the lack of details shown, the lack of care for allowing that leak before E3 and even the lack of an appealing font for the logo makes me think this is not one of their priority projects.

@sinalefa

any amiibo tie-in would be nice. And as a DL it's a good idea as it reminds me of those Mario and DK minis on the march games. And there was some DIY Wario level Maker way back on the DS maybe? I don't know if it's a priority or not, but seriously, where is Yoshi's Wooly World? 2 years for a 2D platformer that looks like a level in LBP 1 from 6 years ago. Though I suppose we have seen more of it than SMT xFE, I relly feel foe the people who were excited about that one, it may not come out until after The Last Gauradian
