While ChoCho can be hyperbolic at times I see where he is coming from. According to mark rein the Wii U can barley run unreal 4 without stripping it down and major optimization. Cliffy B said that he's seen more of the final fantasy demo and the fox engine behind closed doors and they are pushing a few things better than unreal 4.

Hopefully these engines are extremely scalable as its pretty obvious that at the bigger studios the on house engines are going to power every game going forward.

All I heard was that the Wii U can run Unreal 4, but won't, according to Rein. He did say the engine is extremely scalable, but there was no definite statement whether this related to the Wii U, or not. And especially seeing as PC is the only confirmed platform to be running Unreal 4 and with Rein stating he's not in the least hasty to bring it into home consoles, I really don't see this as something we can use to doubt.

He said he'd rather wait for a "massive leap" in consoles that porting it on to something "today", and with that, I can only imagine that Unreal 4 was built with PC specs in mind alone, thus the extreme scalability of the engine. For all we know, the nextBox and the PS4 might barely be able to run this as well.

I see where we're all coming from with all this Wii U power skepticism, but with no solid evidence, we can hardly assume anything. And it'd be naive for us to judge the console's power by the Wii's past mistakes. Let's all just drink some Kool-Aid or something.

That's why I said a stripped down and optimized version because that's what scable in this context probably means. And lets get real while the Wii U is in question Durango and the PS4 will most likely run Unreal 4. Even during converastions Mark Rein talks about Unreal 4 targeting next-gen consoles and PCs while talking about the Wii U in relation to unreal 3.

That and Microsoft are going to be bend over backwards to keep Epic games exclusive to their platform. Epic was the reason why Microsoft bumped the specs of the 360 up in the first place.

Hopefully all these engines are scalable. Konami,Square, and EA all seem to be going the Capcom route in terms of in house engines which is a good thing.

I think this is the second thread like this.

Anyway I said before a new X-Com/UFO Enemy Unknown game, but having had a thought it would also be nice to see:

A new Mr. Driller - actually Mr. Driller Drill Land localised and complete would suffice.
A new Godzilla game like Unleashed, but with better controls and more kaiju.
A tarted-up Marvel Ultimate Alliance. The sequel was crap and the original could use some freshening up. Good storyline, but more variety in the gameplay would be nice and of course the Hulk and other characters that were left out due to a lack of DLC (Iron Fist would also be nice).

I don't know if anyone has said it yet, but Watch Dogs and DMC: Devil May Cry. Speaking of which, does anyone know about DMC? I know right now it will be out on the PS3 and 360, but what do you guys think of the possibility of it being on the WiiU? Do any of you think there's a possibility that it will be revealed later for the WiiU?

Since capcom cut support on wii & 3ds & denied Resident evil 6 & remember me on wii u & don't have a wii u game in development. I think the chances of DMC (or any capcom game) hitting wii u is 0% sadly.

Man, I didn't know any of that. I wonder why that is...that's pretty dang disappointing. I guess I'll have to wait for it to come out for the PC :/

Better be some GTA V on there or someone's gonna die (points a kitchen knife at my cute fluffy plushies). Please Nintendo save these poor victims.

Any good JRPGs. The Wii didn't really have any aside from Xenoblade and Last Story.

Pandora's Tower
Fire Emblem
Chocobo Mystery Dungeon
Rune Factory
Shiren The Wanderer
Tales of Graces
Tales of Symphonia
Valhalla Knights (admittedly this one's not for everyone, but I enjoyed it)
Puzzle Quest
Opoona
Sakura Wars: So Long My Love
Baroque
Phantom Brave: We Meet Again
Spectrobes Origins

Now you don't even need a Wii U. I just listed a bunch of good-to-brilliant RPGs for you!

That's not so unusual. On the PSX I played around 20 JRPGs and I'd only say 3 were worth owning. I found even less on the PS2. Good JRPGs are hard to come by.

...in my pants.

Unlikely, Take two says they are skeptical on wii u core games (including GTA V) & will bring ONLY family titles. Is that bad or what?

I'm not entirely sure what Brando said is exactly true.
When did they cut support on Wii? Probably when they learned about the Wii U and decided to stop making gamecube / ps2 generation games. They made 18 retail games for the system, some of which were ports, but still they've been supporting the Wii.
Why would they bring RE6 to the Wii U? Why not a new RE game instead? RE6 was lame, anyway. Unless you're into those kind of games, I guess. But I want my Resident Evil to be a survival horror game, not a third person action game.
What proof do you have that they don't have any Wii U games in development? And if you are correct, then perhaps what they mean is that they don't have any exclusive titles for the system. They could be working on multiplatform games that could end up on Wii U.
And for Brando to say that there is a "0%" chance of "any capcom game" hitting Wii U is absolutely ridiculous. It's obvious that capcom will have something on the Wii U at some point in the Wii U's life span. Capcom has supported every major Nintendo system to date. Why stop now?

Let me say again that RE was never good survival horror unless you like it in a B-movie sort of way. I genuinely have no reason to believe this isn't abundantly clear even to someone like me who doesn't care about the genre. RE4 kinda did it correctly but it seemed more like it's own thing rather than typical survival horror and worked because every room was filled with great and interesting level design.

And RE6 can't be bad in the past. IT ISN'T RELEASED YET. Unless you mean RE5, which is true as it was just RE4: Missing the Point Edition.

Well, I looked it up to see proof for myself, and Capcom did cut off the Wii and 3DS. I'm not too sure if this will carry over to the WiiU or not, but when it comes to Nintendo's current hardware Capcom has cut them off. However that was announced a few years ago. Things could've changed with the announcement of the WiiU. Part of Capcom's reasoning was the lack of sales they had on the 3DS. It does help to know that most if not all 3rd party developers seemed excited about making games for the WiiU, so Capcom may be the same way. Only time will tell.

How has Capcom cut off Nintendo a few years ago when they just released Revelations this year?

And yes, i was thinking of RE5 instead of RE6. My bad.

If capcom is disappointed in their sales of 3DS software, i assume a big reason is "the mercenaries," but they have no one to blame but themselves on that one. Bad controls, unable to delete save files and... just what is that game? I just wanted a regular mercenaries mode, but instead it's like they tried to make a story out of it. And almost all of the levels are based off RE5, a game that wasn't even on a Nintendo system. They have one level from RE4, but they don't even have ganados in that stage. It's like, what were they thinking?

Capcom is just like every other third party that complains about their software sales on Nintendo systems. They give us crappy games or ports and get mad when we don't buy it. Nobody wanted Resident Evil as a rail-gun shooter. Nobody wanted THREE ports of gamecube Resident Evil games. And then their good, original games were so obscure that the average Wii owner wouldn't even notice it. What's wrong with giving us a good, original Mega Man, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Final Fight, Bionic Commando, etc. Instead, make way for Spyborgs, Zak & Wiki, Neopets and We Love Golf!

Upon doing some research of my own, I found games listed coming for the 3DS by Capcom. E.X. Troopers, Monster Hunter 4 and Project X Zone. So how has Capcom cut off Nintendo if they are still making games for Nintendo systems?
