I think it's going to be an exciting year for Wii U owners, and these crossovers are just the icing on the cake. I don't even own Sonic Lost World yet and it's the one crossover I'm the most looking forward to.
I'd agree it's the year of cross over. There are lots of fans cross over the fact there is nothing to buy until MK8.
Cheap joke, but someone had to get it out the way.
. Edit. Nothing that you want to buy
Nope, I've got some backlog. as I pointed out it was a cheap joke. Doesn't hide the fact that Nintendo the games publisher has a three and a half month gap between Wii U releases, and only Mario Golf and Kirby for the 3ds.
Isn't it obvious that Falco Lombardi is actually a parrot?
@MrGawain Honestly, four games in three months (Yoshi's New Island, Mario Golf World Tour, Kirby Triple Deluxe, Mario Kart 8) sounds like a LOT, when you consider this is all coming from one company. One big company, mind you, that seems to have forgotten that April exists, but one company, nonetheless. To put it in perspective, MK8, Kirby 3D, and Mario Gold have all undoubtedly been in development since before the Wii U's launch. Yoshi's New Island is a different matter, as 2D platformers have gotten to a point with Nintendo that they can kinda just make them in a matter of months. BUT ANYWHO
My point is, we give them flack for this, but we do have to keep in mind that Nintendo is still just one company, and quality games take time that they don't have. 3rd party has all but abandoned Nintendo systems, and the reason isn't exactly hard to figure out. The install base is low, the system would require a dev team just to port a game, the hardware can't cover for terribad game design like it does on other consoles, and most importantly, when you put a 3rd party game next to a Nintendo game on the shelves, which do you think it gonna be bought faster?
In short, while we shouldn't back off and let the weak flow of games stand, we're hardly gaining anything by blaming Nintendo for our missing games.
You know, crossovers happen a lot. I don't think they would ever need their own year. It'd be kind of like a year of interquel. (Not that I think a character or series needs a year, but I will concede that specific intellectual property years would make more sense.)
