Topic: The Wii U turnaround is confirmed!

I said this before any price cut that the Wind Waker HD would be a system seller because it's a great game and of course it's Zelda. Now with the price cut and the bundle the Wii U is now in 4th place and just behind the PS4 as the best selling console in the past few weeks. As I said the turnaround is starting now!!!

The only thing that can confirm a turnaround is a turnaround that's already happened.

I should note:

On Target's Website, The Wind Waker Bundle is listed in the top 5 of pre-orders/New releases (pre-orders don't show up in their general Bestsellers category).
On Best Buy, it's within their top 40 in their general Best selling category. Also note that the Wii is still selling better than the Wii U on there.
Wal-Mart's listing won't show up under best-selling anything...
Amazon US still does not sell the Wii U.

Just to put this a little more into perspective.

No. The thing that will make this system sell is Smash.

I keep telling people it WAY too early to write off the WII U. I talked to some Gamestop employees yesterday and they were comparing the technological advances of the xbone and ps4 vs the Wii U and saying that the Wii U is toast. Here are the reasons why i think the WiI U may do well over its lifetime. It will sell way more VS the doubters expectations.

1. Economy: The Wii U as of 20 September will cost 300.00( Free online play). To be fair not many online games as of current) MSRP Vs PS4 400.00 ( + online fees) and Xbox one MSRP 500.00(+ online fees) So as the see the WII U is 100-200 dollars cheaper then its competition! The World economy( for main street) Not Walll Street is very sloppy. People are going to buy the Wii U off based off price and and best bang for their buck. I am talking about non fanboys/ casual gamers.

2. Technology: Let me get this out of the way first I have no doubt the Xbox One and PS4 will have a way better launch compared to the WII U. Once all the excitement of a new console wears off people will realize that these new systems are only a slight step up when it comes to performance. I have read countless forums of people playing these new systems at E3 and various conventions, many stated their where only slight improvements on graphics and processing.

3. Finally reason for Nintendo's comeback is software, software and software!! Since Pikmin 3( and Pikmin 3 has has exceeded my expectations as of sales and moving WII U systems) and onward are great first party and 3rd titles being released on a steady basis( mainly new mario kart, super smash bro, zelda and bayonetta 2) for at least the next year. This is Nintendo's bread and butter! As Nintendo's user base exceeds 10 million ( will take some time) It will attract more 3rd party developers. We Need 3rd party support!!

In conclusion this is my opinion i do not claim to be a tech guru by any stretch of the imagination. Also i am not predicting that the WII U will out sale the new systems, I am simply stating that its going to do Way better than the trolls and gaming world's expectations!!

Thanks

There will be a turnaround when there will be a bigger install base.
It's actually a vicious circle, as there probably won't be a big install base as long as there aren't enough games. And publisher won't bring their games to a platform that doesn't provide a valid income.
For now I'm doing my part, buying all the games I like on the Wii U and supporting publishers (like Ubisoft) which support the Wii U.
I already have AC4 Buccaneer Edition preordered, and if my finances will allow it, I'll be sure to get Watch Dogs, hopefully the Deadsec Edition.
Let's hope for the better, I'm having a LOT of fun with the Wii U

There won't be a real turn around (if any) until Xbox one and PS4 are out and people realise they are just gaming consoles and not gods in console form. Once all three are out then it will be the games that matter and not the hype and hardware comparisons.

that's exactly how people are making the PS4 and to a smaller extent the XBOne look like lately....

Agreed. It wouldn't surprise me if many consumers are waiting for all 3 consoles to release before making their purchase decision. Also, I think the launch of the xbox-one and ps4 will generate plenty of press for all three consoles, as all the magazines and newspapers will be eager to compare them. I just hope Nintendo is ready.

Nailed it. Every generation that rolls around, weither it be home-console or portable, I see their technologically advanced rivals and worry for Nintendo. But then the big games come out, and the reason Nintendo is so irresistible, as a gamer, becomes clear.

It's Wario time Yaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

OOT3D didn't turn around the 3DS, but it kept things afloat until the real heavyhitters arrived. I see the same result with WWHD.

We already had the keep the boat afloat games with the summer releases. WInd Waker HD is apart of briining the system back for the core and the Nintendoland stayng for the other folks.

Why in the world would amazon not sell the bundle?
