I hope that's fake. It's just ugly. The yellow line doesn't fit in there at all, and the blue makes it feel more I dunno... toned down... like someone's trying to make call of duty or resident evil look okay to parents to give to a 5 year old in place of "Learn the alphabet" type games.
My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.
I think that the Mario one's a mock up. Up to 5 players doesn't seem Nintendo to me, and if you look <EDIT> near </EDIT> the yellow line, it looks like it was edited.

The aqua color and yellow line are confirmed since Nintendo said its official. There actually is up to 5 players in New Super Mario Bros. U. 4 players can use Wii remotes (like the Wii game) and then a 5th player can use the GamePad to stun enemies, create platforms, etc. So I think everything's pretty much the real deal.
@SuperSonic95 lmao. You wish. The game IS up to 5 players and the yellow line is in all of the Wii U cover logos, which Nintendo has already confirmed to be real.

It's not because of the yellow line, it's that there's some inconsistent grey around the yellow line. It may have 5 players, but it doesn't seem like something Nintendo would put on the box art.
How does it seem like something Nintendo wouldn't put on the box? 5 is the highest number of players Nintendo has had for one of their Mario games, so it would seem to be that it would be a selling point.
I guess I see what you mean about the grey. I can't explain that. But it still seems rather legit.
I actually notice that. Well that's possibly photoshopped, but that is in fact the final design for the boxes. Not necessarily New Super Mario Bros. U, but the general design is official.

Mario Party would like to talk to you about eight players. Did NSMB Wii have "Up to 4 players" on it? EDIT: Just checked and it does. I didn't buy it, hence why it seemed out of the blue to include that. Also, upon closer inspection, the grey seems to be part of the Wii U logo area. I'm not sure that Nintendo would repeat the "Up to # players" thing though.

I think he means the main series Mario games. Mario Party is a spinoff. That's like responding to "Mario has never driven in a Super Mario game" with "uhh Mario Kart?" Its different.
And yes, New Super Mario Bros. Wii had 4 player multiplayer.
Actually, the Mario one may very well be legit. That grey line you are reffering to (if you look back on other examples of Wii U box art, is actually PART of the logo. The thin grey line is supposed to be under the yellow line.

I looked it up and edited it before you posted this. Also, the box art looks almost identical but with new artwork. Look at them both. NSMB Wii is filled with red at the bottom. Same with U, except it's blue. I personally doubt they would repeat that trend. I don't know the source of the image, but if it is Amazon it is likely real. Also, @bboy2970 I noticed that and included that in an edit.
No, I'm aware that the GameCube didn't sell quite well when it released, but I wouldn't deem it their least popular console based solely on its financial disaster, 'specially seeing as how the Wii's success was mainly inspired by the criticisms the GameCube received - and I don't feel the console died per se, seeing what happened with the Wii being 100% backwards-compatible with the GC's software and peripherals. And despite its failure sales-wise, we all know that the GC came to offer us many unforgettable gaming experiences on Nintendo's part. Yet I digress; I suppose this may be considered based solely on a perspective.

Oh, I see. Global popularity is determined on whether GameLord likes something or not.
My bad!
Nintendo still copied the Gamecube box design though.
