@Tasuki - XBLA sales numbers mean nothing to me. I want a real shooter game not a generic point and click/can't make a real video game/excuse of a game. I don't like any of the Telltale games... and the TV series is disappointing? wow, seriously? whatever...
Basing how good something is off of sales doesn't prove anything. The Wii is the number one console so you are saying it's better than Xbox 360 and PS3 right?
1. Walking Dead game and generic...oh god where do I begin? Ugh...
2. Same implication that Wii was a bad console because of the many good games that no one bought. That's basically what you mean, so let's not pretend otherwise. Invalid opinion, in other words.
You got it wrong, I love the Wii. I was saying with his logic he should like the Wii better than his 360 because it sold more.
I might look at this if it isn't the click and point on rails game like the TellTale one. I got the Walking Dead on PSN for free from PS+, and I was immediately bored just watching the first scene for 5 minutes and my answers not taking full effect like I wanted them to. I'd say movie people would like this game. Capcom just needs to make another Dead Rising, so we can have a good zomie game again. Dead Rising 1 was better than any zombie game I've ever played by action standards, with 2 being kinda cheap gameplay and storywise, but still pretty good. RE is my next favorite zombie game, but zombies nowadays always seem to happen because of a parasite, which is alot more explanatory which is kinda disappointing.
Exactly, that's what I meant. The Activision game will be more exciting to me, the Telltale game feels more like a long cut-scene or movie than it does a game. It just doesn't appeal to me. I agree about Dead Rising but didn't like the WIi one.
I just wish Activison did not make this. I would rather of had Ubisoft or Valve or even EA make it. Look at poor old James Bond look what Activision did to that franchise. Steam has even taken off QoS, Blood Stone and Legends from there store. Not sure why but all 3 where rubbish.
Looks very unpolished. I'm not a heavy graphics criticizer, but being as of late, the 8th gen hit, and this needs some revamps before going to be sold.
I'm kind of disappointed this will be another FPS/Shooter "Horror" game. Telltale's The Walking Dead game kept me bound to the PC at every moment. If this were to be done with a better graphics engine, my opinion wouldn't be trembling and change considerably to its favor. We need some fresh, new concepts, not stereotypical zombie shooters that are starting to appear a little overrated now.
Don't want to sound rude, or bash on others' ideas. I'm saying this is not a game I'd spend 60 bucks (and here, more than that, with the currency exchange, games are really expensive, I'd say 240$ +) on something I would feel that is undone/unfinished, rather than something I wait and want to get.
Coming from Activision, I have my EXTREME doubts (I'd rather have the TT game anyway) since you know, it's Activision.

Your condition is critically grave...but don't expect mercy from such an alliance..

It's amazing that people are immediately writing off the game just because it's being published by Activision.
Yes, the game might suck, but for people to immediately assume it will just because they hate the publisher is ridiculous. Though sadly not surprising.
I think it's going to be hurt by comparisons to Telltale's excellent game, of course. But people need to remember that they're two completely different games, going for completely different styles of gameplay (not to mention that TT's game is based on the comic, while this game is based on the tv series). And for anyone too lazy to actually look into the details of the game, it's being said to be not a generic FPS, but more of a tactical/survival horror style game, closer to ZombiU in terms of gameplay.
I'm defintely hopeful it will be a solid game, as the story of the Dixon brothers (the game's story is a prequel to the series, following Daryl and Merle) surviving before meeting up with the group outside Atlanta should certainly be interesting.
Did anyone really thing Telltale could make a GOTY contender?
You never know, Activision might make something good.
I'm pretty sure the Sam & Max series has won a bunch of awards, and their Jurassic Park game was runner up in varying categories on different sites IIRC. I actually wasn't very surprised to see Walking Dead be generally accepted as a really good game, yes, even by the media that caters to the ignorant masses.
And I'm sure they'll make something good if the give it the time...but that's kind of Activision's problem right there. They're unlikely to give it the time it needs to be really good. It's more likely to end up a rush job like so many other non-CoD games Activivision has produced.
Comparing this to a different style of game (assuming the game from Telltale is more of a point-and-click adventure) just because it's using the same franchise doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
I don't regard first-person action titles as a place for brilliant gameplay or story generally (though it's nice when that happens on rare occasion), but just want to shoot things. It's a lowbrow gaming fix I'm looking for. If the controls aren't dual stick I'll definitely give this a look as Zombi U didn't tick the box for me.
Declaring a game GOTY doesn't make it good, to EVERYONE that is. I didn't like it, so saying it got GOTY on whatever site doesn't do jack.
Well I'm assuming you have bad taste. The game was praise for a very good reason.
Assume is your key word. I might have bad taste from your perspective, but what I like is what like. You can define that as bad if you want. I don't really care. I agree with RE4 getting GOTY in 2005, I just don't agree with The Walking Dead getting it this year, that's all.

Getting an award means it's being recognized for being a good game. While that doesn't always mean it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, it does mean it's a noteably good game. You don't have to like a good game if it's not your style, but now you'd be officially wrong for calling it bad...unless, you know, you mean it's a "bad game" by gameplay standards, which it honestly is. Even a ton of people who praise the games to the sun can admit that. However, gameplay is a relatively unimportant aspect to the game, compared to its other aspects, hence why most people still enjoy the game despite those flaws.
I love the walking dead series and I loved the PSN download title. But since this is from Activision I have my doubts. I mean look at this video. Ok it is early gameplay and I hope it looks 10x better than this come release if not I probably won't be buying it. The War Z graphics look better than this and that is a piece of turd. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMnSxy0_tG8
Hopefully they've polished the game since this footage came out. The movement in the game doesn't seem too natural either. I'm skeptical about this game, but will probably get it at some point.
