Much like we had Super Mario Land (GB), Super Mario World (SNES), and Super Mario Galaxy (Wii).
We already have Super Mario 3D Land (3DS) and Super Mario 3D World (WiiU). I think the next big one will be Super Mario 3D Galaxy. Wheter or not it'll be on the Nintendo Seven (my working title for the next Nintendo system) or the Wii U, I don't know.
What do you think?
I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite
Its either..... Super Mario 3D Galaxy or Super Mario 64 remake.
Either way... I want the next Mario game to HAVE THE EXACT SAME GRAPHICS AS SUPER MARIO 3D WORLD.
I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

I'm not sure it'll anything like any past Mario game.
After all, 3D World is out. Galaxy has already had two games. 64 and Sunshine are seen as a bit old hat... I think Nintendo's more likely to release something new after this.
Although I do admit, Galaxy 3 would be a possible 'last resort' cheap way to appeal to the self proclaimed 'hardcore' who apparently haven't moved on since then.
no more galaxy please! its done, i even think galaxy 2 was unnecessary really. i want new ideas and concepts although admittedly i dont have any idea what they could be other than that they should make use of the game pad.
moving on from 3d world the one thing i would like is more organic environments and less of the building block style of the 3D games.
Open world mushroom kingdom/or wherever, no hub world except for the continuous open environment.
Make it a globe with ice levels at the poles and deserts and jungles near the equator etc.
Some sort of Star or magic coin to collect to open gated areas.
Exploration requires progressively more difficult platforming
Unlock power ups and switch palaces to open up the map fully
hidden caves and launch stars to allow for extra more creative levels (like the caves in Sunshine or new planets in Galaxy)
Find 120+ stars as Mario (then Luigi)
once Mario has completed all the stars and opened up the entire kingdom, a challenge mode should open that is more in the vain of 3D land i.e. run from a-b within the time limit levels.
possible gamepad coop so Mario and Luigi can independently explore the world and collect stars or solve puzzles together
but this would be a good idea, with analog sticks that excuse of a remake would have been almost as good as the original!

i love this kind of idea. ive been hoping for some kind of mario adventure type game, almost zelda like in terms of exploration and puzzles, with a mario 64 feel to it. watching the super mario brothers super show really makes me wish for a game almost like that.
I doubt if they'll make a Super Mario game next year but I'm guessing that its going to be super mario galaxy 3 and why not? Or its gonna be Super Mario Sunshine HD.

What about giving it an entire new places inside of the big glass fragment picture of Peach after you unlocks the canon? And let you plays as Peach after you has saved her? And instead of starting as Yoshi, since he should stand on the roof, and became playable after talking to him, you could start as a Nabbit intending to robb the castle
And Kamek, Bowser JR and the Koopalings should appear too not to forget Birdo and Daisy and Dr, Egadd, they could put Egadd in a mission in the Ghosthouse

that'd turn the remake into an entirely awesome new game!

Heh, reminds me of my extremely old 'ideas' for what they could have added to the game.
Went from being semi reasonable for a remake to 'Nintendo/Mario fan service in video game form'. Think, Super Mario Advance 4's e-Reader cards + Donkey Kong 94's level of new content.
I'd like to see the next Mario game having Bowser as the playable star, akin to Bowser's Inside Story on the 3DS. Whether in the style of 3D World or something new altogether, I think it would be a blast.
