I don't agree with the article, I think that we should buy what interests us. I love all of the Marios and Zeldas and could care less if someone disapproves. But I also love the 3rd party games like Wonderfull 101, Rayman, Scribblenauts, Lego, Disney Infinity, Skylanders and others.

I think this sums things up perfectly. Stop worrying whether or not your decision to buy a game will affect future games being released. Just play games to have fun and buy what interests you plain and simple.

If someone owns multiple consoles and they buy their 3rd Party games on another console(non-Nintendo) then they are supporting that console, not Nintendo consoles. So if you want to support Nintendo buy 3rd Party on a Nintendo console. If 3rd Parties start making profit on Nintendo systems then they will focus more on Nintendo systems. People buy most 3rd Party games on other systems so 3rd Parties focus on those systems. Money is more powerful than raging fans...

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Yes but if you don't support a company in their efforts on a system, don't complain when they don't put other games on that system. Play what you want but understand your money does most of the talking to these 3rd parties

i was contradictng the notion that nintendo fans dont buy third party games...i was saying that they buy the superior version in a diferent console. This is not nintendo fans responsability...if nintendo wants us to buy third party games on their consoles, then they must offer something that makes the consumer feel like the wii u version is the one to go...as long as the wii u continues to get the inferior version due to its limited processing capabilities, people will buy the ps4 or the xbox one version for that extra graphical or whatever, superiority...and thats all there is to it.

Sorry, but I'm on a budget and I'm not going to be buying a game I don't want just so third-parties will continue to support the system. That's pretty stupid if you ask me.

You're right, don't buy games you don't want but if you want a company to support the Wii U then you need to support that company's games on Wii U. Like if I wanted Square-Enix to bring Kingdom Hearts 3 or Final Fantasy # (I forget what number they are on) to Wii U then I would buy games that Square-Enix releases on the Wii U. If you don't want sports games, don't buy sports games. If you don't want shooters then don't buy shooters. When companies release games on the system you have then you might want to support them by buying their games. You don't have to buy all the games in the world but it is food for thought.

Yeah, except, that doesn't work. I'm sure plenty of us bought those crappy games for Wii hoping that we would get further support, but did we? Where are we now with the Wii U? We bought their crappy ports and weird spin-offs and now we have no third party support. Maybe, if they would have given us actual good games to buy in the first place more people would have bought it. Quit blaming the fans, man. You know full well that while ps3 / 360 got Resident Evil 5 we got light gun games and ports of gamecube games. Ps/xbox fans didn't have to buy weird Resident Evil spin-offs to get RE5. They just got it. It is NOT the consumer's fault, it's the developers / publishers.

i only complain when it doesn't make any darn sense ie. mickeys castle of illusion hd or pacman museum. still mad about these too. i can find no reasonable argument for their omission

Well you bought the games so you are not part of the problem.
@faint
Castle of Illusions, look at Epic Mickey 2 sales. Sold better on all other consoles, even Wii.
Pac-man Museum look at Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures.

I don't know if these actually affected those games but it might help to understand

MAB

The only way to fix the 3rd Party debacle is if the 5 million+ Wii Users were like the MAB and purchased every 3rd Party game DIGITAL 4 LYFE from the eShop... Ubisoft, EA and others would be extremely happy to have 5 million sales but instead these Nintendites buy poop like NES Remix for $15 and ignore better games

i get what your saying but how does it really translate to digital only budget/dlc titles. the reviews for epic mickey are awful and so is the demo. i never had any intrest in it but like alot of wii u owners i had a sega growing up and loved castle of illusion. it is far better suited for a nintendo console. see with digital only offerings you can sell it untill the end of a consoles life span. the eshop has so little competition compared to live and psn. both of these digital only games would have been very sucessful here.

There was no way in hell that I was going to buy EA's launxh games. Mass Effect 3 was directly competing with its own trilogy and Madden and FIFA's physics were effed up.

Some of the ports were worth owning, if they were new games(Sonic, CoD, Injustice, Tekken, AC), but anything that lost value/features weren't going to sell. Even the launch CoD game was technically more worth buying than Ghosts, because the perceived value had then changed to a year later.

I never played Deus Ex before = I'll buy Wii U version.
Tekken Tag 2 was a fairly new game that was good = I'll buy it
Sonic Racing was one month old, was good = I'll buy it
RE: Revelations was basically the same, but now on consoles = I'll buy it
Injustice came out on the same day as Xbox 360 and PS3 without missing features = I'll buy it

Madden and FIFA don't have real physics = I won't buy
CoD: I bought it because I heard it was fun. Activision didn't deliver = I won't buy it again

If 3rd party games are lacking in some way, I'm not going to buy them. You can't blame fans or specifically Nintendo for some games not selling that well. I bought CoD for Wii U, because I was new to the series. CoD is basically dead at this point, because alot of us were expecting the same experience as other consoles.

Uhm... what? CoD may be dead to you, but it's not dead for a lot of other people. And if you were expecting the same CoD experience on a Nintendo platform as on other platforms, then yeah, you're obviously new to CoD on Nintendo.

There's a difference between Wii and Wii U, though. I can understand how Activision treated Wii, but they dropped the ball on Wii U. I think it has alot to do with how they release annual entires, too.

If a new entry didn't come out every year, it be way easier to get DLC and not worry about quick cash.

Gamers cannot be blamed for Nintendos poor decisions.

I don't understand this mentality of buying something because you feel you want to support an idea. I mean buy stuff you like instead of piracy sure but spending money on stuff you're on the fence about purely so you can "support" more of that stuffs? No thanks. I'll buy games that I think are good on the platform that I think is best for it.

If it happens to be a third party game on a Nintendo platform then that'll be where I go. If it's not then so be it. I don't owe Nintendo anything, the day they stop putting content I like on their platforms is the day that I stop buying their platforms.

Some playlists: Top All Time Songs, Top Last Year
"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"

It's partly 3rd party fault, too.

From my perspective, Nintendo has exposed 3rd parties being s***y.

EDIT: Nintendo needs to improve, too, but 3rd parties have been being unacceptable.

I think all 3 are to blame. Nintendo's unquestionably at the least has done the least to convince 3rd parties on average(YMMV on how large or small a difference it is), 3rd parties fail to get how Nintendo works or how to advertise interesting games, and consumers are stupid, safe, sheep.
