Topic: The MK8 + SSB + Amiibo effect

Nintendo made a big jump since the wii u launch . I bought mine at launch and remember when i went in stores the wii u alley was empty nothing attracting adults kids . but that changed.
Since a month I see plenty of people stoping by the Wii U and talk about how fun MK8 looks and how super smash looks amazing. Kids are playing the mk8 demos at the booth and asking mom and dad for amiibos!
I even see people buy Wii U now!!!
I think Nintendo finally made people understand why they need a Wii U at home . I hope they keep it up and make games worth even more the need to buy those amazing Amiibos!

Have you seen any changes at stores when it comes to the Wii U section?

Funny i just got back from my local store and was absolutely deoressed with the state of both the Wii U AND 3DS sections.. Damn i hate living in the uk when it comes to games the general public have no taste.

Saw somebody buying one on black friday at best buy (first time I've actually seen that). Then went to Target to get smash bros. and nearly all amiibos were sold out.

Anecdotal evidence at best but during my hunt for amiibo figures i've seen plenty of people picking up a Wii U package deal. The Wii U Party pack with basic console, extra Wiimote, Nintendo Land and Wii U Party in particular seems to be popular. This is selling for an amazing 195 euro and most people bought MK8 or SSBU (or both) as well.

Those bundle deals are really proving there worth now as well I think along with the buzz from MK8 and Bayo and SSB

Everyone will have different stories depending on their local stores, but in general, I have also been seeing things get better. I got a Wii U at launch, and my local Gamestops have gone from, "Wii U... you seriously own one of things? We may have a few things under the cobwebs in the back..." to "Yea, I play Mario Kart/Smash all the time. And no, we still don't have any adapters in stock." lol

In perhaps the most telling signs of all (for me), my hardcore PC/XBOX MASTERRACE RAWR friend recently purchased a Wii U. Wow. I was so shocked I thought he was messing with me, but he plays it all the time now.
