I never played those two games and have them in hand. Just bought an Wii U and would like to play them. But... it's is a cruel question: which one to play first? I never played any Wii game before, besides Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Wii Sports, take that in note. I also have New Super Mario Bros. U, also still sealed, but would like to experience some older Wii games first.

I'd recommend Zelda over Mario any day, but you might be better off with Mario first so you don't end up playing two of his games right after each-other. Though Galaxy has some major differences to SMBU, they're both platformers.
My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.
