No offesense but people are saying that the iPhone and the iPad are killing the Wii U.

That's like saying that a Android Phone is killling a PS3.

Or a Samsung Galaxy Tab is killing the XBOX 360.

Or a DS is killing the Wii.

I mean I know that both the iPad and the Wii U are targeting casual players, but Wii U is a Home Console and the iPad is a mobile device.

I agree with people that the iPad is killing the 3DS, but I don't think it's hurting the Wii U. It's more like Kinect hurting the Wii U.

The Ipad can't kill the Wii U since they are two totally different devices. The Ipad can be taken anywhere and is used more as a laptop than a gaming device. The Wii U controller needs to be next to a TV to work. People that say that Ipad is killing the Wii U don't realize that it is a game console.

I've never seen electronic devices attempt to hurt each other, much less commit murder. But if they did, I think the Wii U would be able to crush the puny iDevices since they're so slim and sleek.

not to mention the buttons... those dual joystick things will be like little mallets against the nice, smooth screens of those iDevices. >:3

I would be impressed if the iPhone and iPad were killing the Wii U. It's hard to kill something that doesn't yet exist.

I honestly dont think iPhone is going to kill ninty in anyway. is having a gaming system that plays music killing iPods?

It doesn't matter if they devices do two completely different things. Ipads and video game consoles fall in the same category. That category is electronic entertainment.

And yes, the Ipad will affect the sales of all consoles and handhelds, because some people that MAY buy a console/handheld may now want to buy an Ipad.
While I don't think it's hindering sales to an extreme degree, I will agree that it will most likely hinder market growth for any console/handheld a considerable amount.

Realize that not having market growth isn't a bad thing. It may be to shareholders who expect Wii type sales again, but not to a company. Having table market share can still be incredibly profitable.
