Guess what guys, I got it! Christmas Eve, 9 a.m., DHL dude knocks on my door and hands me a brand new Wii U GamePad! The GamePad is brand new but unfortunately it didn't come with the Adapter. The question is, the only thing I can get straight out of the store close by is the charging dock. Can I plug a regular mini USB to the dock or do I need the cable for it?

A mini USB adapter won't fit.
I bought a dock that came with an adapter that worked fine, although the lead was a bit short.
If you ask in the shop they should sort one out for you.

I passed by Gamestop 3 minutes before they closed and found an Energizer charging dock with an adapter and 2 slots for Wii Remotes with rechargable batteries, all for about $20. I also bought a battery pack for the Gamepad and replaced the original battery, that cost around $10.

This is one of the best investments you can make on a Wii U system. The high capacity battery I bought was much more expensive, so it seems like you made an incredible deal there.

This is the one I got. Considering it's from Gamestop I thought it was an unbelievable deal. 2500 mAh instead of 1500 is a huge change. I just hate that I can't take my Gamepad to the bathroom while I take a poop . https://www.gamestop.de/Wii%20U/Games/29895/nintendo-wii-u-po...

I haven't heard very positive feedback about third party GamePad batteries. I hope it works well for you.

I've had it for a day, so I can't say much about it just yet. Also, I'm a resident of surgery, so playing more than 2 hours is not really something I do often.
