Topic: The depressing state of the WiiU release schedule

Don't get me wrong, Im a big fan of the WiiU, have owned it since day 1 and do not currently intend to buy any other systems.....HOWEVER....I just looked at the upcoming games list on amazon. Between now and 30th May we have about a hundred different versions of We Sing, Lego the hobbit, Spiderman 2, and Mario Kart. Nothing else, and nothing with a confirmed release date after that. I know there are games that I haven't picked up yet and I still intend to, but where are the new games?

yeah, but apart from bayonetta 2, hyrule warriors, x and ssb4 (none of which have release dates) what is in development?

Yarn Yoshi..... Zelda U.... Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem...... I'm pretty sure Nintendo has maybe.... 2-3 unannounced exclusive games for Wii U at E3. ONE OF THEM WILL BE METROID.

And can you you really blame Nintendo for not making official release dates?

There are also GBA VC releases coming up and eShop titles. We also have 3DS stuff.

Well, Mario Kart is a big reason why I bought the system, and I have a ton of games that I have barely played or not even played at all.

Time to all get depressed about our Nintendo fun time being less fun less of the time because nintendo won't make us games our depressed and utterly loathed Wii U's cause Nintendo is Nintendo is depressing

It's annoying that Reggie stated that there would be a new game every month from Nintendo, but perhaps unsurprising it isn't true. I do think DK was delayed to flesh out 2014, but that still doesn't fill the 5 month gap between Christmas MK8.

The Wii U is my only home system (I have a 3ds), and I've bought ALL of the Nintendo published games plus a large majority of the better reviewed 3rd party games- including recently Mass Effect 3, AC4, and Deus Ex on the cheap. They aren't my first choices of what to play but I know I need some filler to tide me over until Nintendo and some of the other Japanese producers (IMHO they make better games than Western producers) release their titles. I'm enjoying AC4 FAR more than AC3, and have yet to play the other 2. I don't hope for much for my taste preferences, but they each cost less than a tenner. I know that 3rd party western releases are likely to dry up on the Wii U, but the only one I would be tempted to buy a PS4 for is Arkham Knight, and that seems too extravagant for just one game.

The truth is YES the Wii U has limited titles, but if you like 'Nintendo type' games at the quality they produce them, you can't get them elsewhere.

I will be spending over $50 during April on new releases, personally I am fine with there not being a Disc game. I got like 5-6 GBA games I am getting plus 1-2 eShop titles coming that I am getting. If you think there are no new releases check again

That's a bit depending on how a "game from Nintendo" is defined. Nintendo has released quite a few smaller DL titles as well, such as Doctor Luigi, NES Remix 1, etc.

The development schedule is a bit more sparse this gen because it takes much longer and much more money to develop games nowadays. Having poor third party support doesn't really help either.

Shows how much they were going to rely on 3rd parties for at least the first couple of years. I would assume all the development teams are currently working on something but they are going through the same jump other developers went through at the beginning of the previous gen.

You know there's like one hundred other AC games released, don't you ? Not just four...

I meant I am enjoying the Wii U's AC4 more than AC3. The other two games are Mass Effect 3 and Deus Ex that I bought with AC4 for a super cool value price/ Seventeen Quid for AC4 and Nine for the other two each.
