Seriously, have people here never looked up Evangelion? The main characters are all 14 years old in that too (because reasons), and there's a 'dark side' of that fandom too. This hasn't started with Splatoon so why's everyone so upset about it now, of all times? Just look at the jedi-aligned fan art and chill. People will do what people do, most of which isn't sexual portrayals of underage girls (using US law), and there's nothing anyone can do to prevent that, so chill. Just chill.

I wouldn't say that is a like for like comparison though, unlike Splatoon Eva (not that I'm condemning it btw) didn't have a family friendly rating, regularly featured "fan service" (why is ogling shots of girls called fan service in anime?) and at one point had the main character masturbate to an unconscious girl which is all ripe for weird sex fan art.
As far as I'm concerned, this is the internet. This is a given that's going to happen and doesn't even deserve a thread as if this is some sort of shock.
If this was actually some kind of huge and consistent problem where every other post in the game was like the "dark side" then it's very much worth a discussion and thread but as it's such a minor thing, yeah it's nothing worth talking about.
