Hey, just got a wii u and my favorite genre is local multiplayer games like smash bros, Mario tenis, tony hawk pro skater 2 , 007 goldeneye(64), 007 everything or nothing(GameCube) and conker bad fur day, what games do you advise to buy?

I bought 8 games with that in mind, let me know what am I missing.

On top of that did i miss any must-play Wii or GC game ? I know i can play them on the Wii u... plus i never played TLOZ ocarina of time but i read that i need the wii classic controller, is it worth paying $50 to play ocarina of time on the Wii u?

Ps: I won't be playing them till Saturday and the only Zelda game that I played was a link to the past on game boy color
Here is the list:

Wind waker HD

Mario Kart 8

Super Mario 3D world

Donkey kong tropical freeze

Pikmin 3

The wonderful 101

Nintendo Land

ZombiU

All the games on your list when you local multiplayer are amazing, except wind waker that's only single player.

@maco I'm sorry, you want local multiplayer and you didn't get Nintendo Land and Wii Party U?

The Wii U is a great console for multiplayer sessions, and with those games, you'll be more satisfied with your purchase.

The Wii U is backward compatible with Wii, but not GameCube. You can play classic Wii virtual console from Wii mode on Wii U. You may need classic controller for games that require more than four buttons like N64 or SNES. TLOZ Ocarina of Time does required the aforementioned controller, and can be found on Wii Shop channel at 1500 Wii points.

Have fun with what you have.

Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

4 wiimotes / 4 pro controllers adds up to quite a bit of money. Probably worth it if you have 4 people lots of the time but its still expensive.

i really hate the wii mote shape, do i really need it?
the console comes with 1 wii mote and gamepad and i bought 2 pro controllers, isnt that enough for 4-player mode?

MsJubilee

@maco Depends on which local game you're going to play Zombiu you just need one gamepad and a pro controller.Super mario 3d you have the controllers necessary to play it with four players. And the rest you're good except nintendo land cause you will need a wii remote and a nunchuck for all players. So you're all set.

Yeah and after that you're set, now you can play all those local multiplayer games. You must have a lot of money right now to buy those controllers.

Do you need Nunchuks in Nintendo Land? I thought Wii Remote Plus was enough.

EDIT: Only Metroid Blast requires it. Everything else is playable with a Wii Remote, except Legend of Zelda Battle Quest, which requires Wii Remote Plus.

Nintendo Land is a lot of fun but it is a party game. How often do you think you will be in a position to play Nintendo Land with a total of 5 players? It is a pretty cheap game now and the few times I got to play 5 players was pretty sweet. Also I think the only game that would require everyone to have a Nunchuck is the Metroid Blast game.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

yeah.... guess i will eventually buy all controllers, i watched some videos and metroid is SICK

@maco Well nintendo land is fun but worth the money to buy those controllers? I don't think so i played it with one person, and we both finished it and then it got boring. So again no is not worth to buy all those controllers.

NSMB U probably isn't as good, but I've not played 3D World. It's definitely not my favourite game in the world or anything but I'd say it's worth it for multiplayer if you see it at a good price.
