If anyone watched any gameplay footage from Witcher, even 5 minutes of B reel, they could obviously see that the game was 'colorful.' I'm not aware of any other definitions for 'colorful' than 'having prominent colors' and the Witcher is that.

And I don't see why you're particularly bemused by a PC screenshot of a multiplatform game. They look the same, that's the point. An Xbox 1 screenshot would have looked just the same to our eyes.

Anyway, I like all sorts of art styles. I don't think there's a universal rule, more realistic or stylized styles fit different games better. 's art m8.

Don't hate me because I'm bnahabulous.

10 reasons why you shouldn't own a Wii U:
1) The control for the gamepad sucks.
2) Lack of 3rd party.
3) Miiverse is filled with trolls.
4) New Virtual Console games only releases one game per week.
5) Has the worst Indies.
6) Demo still has limited uses.
7) Finding stuff in Eshop is difficult.
8) The space between the Wii U pad and Console is too short.
9) Wii U lacks 1st party games.
10) Stuff is ridiculously expensive on Eshop. (GBA games cost 7.99? Really? How ridiculous!)

At least with Nintendo they're subtle and genuine with reusing the same franchises over and over and actually incorporate new concepts to said games. Call of duty blatantly milks everything they can with the series and has been the same game since modern warfare with a community of 17 year loofs. Are you complain about a measly $8 for a full game. Try $20-30 for one dlc that was already developed before the original game was complete.

Well given you've actually played the game I'll bow to your superior wisdom in regards to the amount of colour it has. However the original statement that the Wii U has more colourful games? That stands. As someone who has been split between PC and Nintendo for a long time? That's something that has always been true.

I like how I can literally waste people's lives just by saying a generalized, not 100% true sentence.

That's fine, parts of Shadow of Mordor, etc are too drab and some designs in Skyward Sword and NSMB are garish IMO.

But really, color being a visual aspect, playing the game doesn't give me any special expertise on it. At least not any more than would be gained from watching videos of gameplay. It's more about general familiarity.

Well if you have waited this long to get a Wii U, i would wait a few more weeks because I have this gut feeling that E3 will reveal a new version of the Wii U. Here are my specs for what I think the new one be. First off, it will get a new name branded similarly to the New Nintendo 3DS and it goes something like this:

The NEW Nintendo Wii U
Price: 199.99
No Controller BUT Compatible with New 3DS as a controller instead of the old one. (No offscreen play though)
Bundled with Splatoon and Nintendoland
Gamecube controller ports included
Thinner formfactor
Faster processing speeds
Future games will have features that are exclusive to the NEW systems.
More powerful than ps4 or xbox1
The long awaited Zelda game will run at 1080p 60fps on it. But only 30fps on the original Wii U.
1tb of internal storage.
the wiimote uv bar you install on your tv will have video and mic for NEW Wii U exclusive features.

These posts often make me laugh. The OP asked for ten reasons why you should own a Wii U. This comment however starts with the assumption that the OP is looking for a Wii U, then goes through the trouble of listing made-up specs for a nonexistant console.

Well, wouldnt waiting 2 weeks make sense? if you have already waited 2 years?
aside from speculations?

Why you're wrong:

  • There are still a few million Wii Us produced that have not shipped to retailers. Nintendo will not produce more until this stock has been exhausted.
  • Dropping the price by $100 would be too damaging. They're already selling refurbished units for $200 too. What will they do with them, drop the price to $99? Not happening.
  • No controller in the box, but you can buy one separately for $200, I can almost see how embarrassed Reggie would be to utter those words.
  • Like, come on, more powerful than PS4/XB1? 1TB of storage? For 200 bucks? Get out of town. For real.

I think you're playing, and you got me.

Okay okay.. man you guys are brutal. Im just having a little fun. I know im off but cant we dream? I do still sticking to my guns though about a NEW Wii U. you cant wait until all have cleared the shelves to move forward.. sometimes revamping it to move more units is more cost effective than waiting til a few thousand more have sold off the shelves. and announcing it at e3 is perfect for a christmas release. and man if there was some sort of unique and ground breaking communication with NEW 3DS and NEW Wii U, id upgrade my xl and wii

Yeah, the Wii U's not going anywhere with it's current price and I very much doubt Nintendo will drop the price much more. Nintendo has basically chosen to stymie the console's future growth in favor of profiting in the short term.

much more? They have yet to drop the price since launch. The console has been available for $299 since launch and $299 is still the cheapest bundle available at retail. All they have done is rebundle what you get for $299...that is not a price cut. A real price cut would have been dropping the basic set to $250 instead of discontinuing it.

They need a price cut badly and I feel they may announce one at E3

Exactly, and the won't drop the price 'much more.' Even if they do announce a $50 price drop that's not 'much' and it's certainly not enough. Definitely not after announcing the next big thing and with a popularity-limited library of games.

Then they wont drop the price much is what you meant. "Much more" would mean the price has already been dropped some.

The quantification of a $50 price cut is subjective. I think it is significant and probably the minimum that is needed. That would get them back to being $100 cheaper than the competition (xbox one $349).

But the Wii U launched at $350, no?

1. Nintendo charm- truly the only company that can make you feel like a kid again. Played MK8 and Smash, among other games, with three generations- a 45 y/o, a 23 y/o and a 6 y/o...and all of us had a blast.

2. It's semi-portable. I can fit the Gamepad, the Wii U, power supply and about a dozen games in the same backpack that housed my old Dell Laptop. I think this is truly an under-rated feature.

3. The option to play off of a disk. I HATE that I have to load my disk onto the HD for my XBone.

4. Memorable characters.... Couldn't imagine having a primary system that didn't allow me to play as DK, Yoshi, Mario, Luigi, Bowser etc. in some capacity.

5. Best local play, especially party games.

6. Best exclusives. MK8 and Smash never get old. Fresh colorful titles- DKTF, Splatoon, SMB3dW, W101, Pikmin 3, Kirby, Toad etc. Devil's Third, Bayonetta and Xenoblade for more mature. And Zelda will be epic.

7. Great value. There are hidden costs to the Xbone and PS4. $60 per year in online fees. Another $60 plus for a HD, which you WILL need, even if you just use disks. Another $60 for extra controller (chances are you have a Wii Mote already that can be used with the Wii U). As mentioned above, between MK8 and Smash, by the end of the year, I will have 400 plus hours logged on those two games alone between me and my family. Those two games alone justify purchase of the system. Hard to beat entertainment for $1 per hour or less, eventually.

8. Solid eShop selection with Virtual Console and Indies

9. Nintendo has games that anybody at any skill level can play. And- has the best games that you can just play for 10-20 minutes per day, like Smash, Wii Sport Club and MK8.

10. Games that use the gamepad- Wii Sports Club, Rayman Legends, Affordable Space Adventures, Kirby, NintendoLand, Deus Ex, Zombie U etc. Offline play. Sometimes I'm actually disappointed when I play games that require the gamepad as a second screen, simply b/c I love playing offline.
