Topic: taking WiiU from US region to the UK

We bought my son's Wii U in the US, we live in the West Indies. We are moving back to the UK, we know that if we buy a power cord from the Nintendo in the UK that will work, and am guessing that the HDMI cable now avoids all previous problems with PAL/NTSC compatibility, but what happens to the games he downloaded onto the system? I am certain his Nintendo account is registered in the US, if he ever wants to re-download the games when in the UK is he going to be able to? If he wants to buy new games when back in the UK is he going to find that he can't because he has a US account?

he needs to continue to use the US Store, even from UK
retail games can be purchased from Amazon.com (for example) and shipped over, but UK discs won't work on a US system.
eshop download games - can be got from the US Store (it doesn't check where the system physically is, just what region the system was brought from)
I have a US system, and I am in Italy
