Topic: Suspended software on Wii U menu

I haven't used my Wii U in quite some time. Bought some games, so I'm now playing again. I noticed on my Wii u menu that I had Tank Tank Tank and Zen pinball. They may have been there from the previous owner I bought it from on Ebay a while back. I clicked on them, but when it asked me to press A to continue, it wouldn't work. And no, it isn't the wiimote, because it worked fine on my other games. It does say suspended software on a different page, so what does that mean?

If you when you say menu, are talking about the quick start menu when you first turn on the Wii U? If so, then they are games that were played at some point on the Wii U either disk or download. If those games are not available anymore than it will not start the game. But the icon for the game will remain on the quick start menu until more games are played to replace them. If they are disk games and you do not have the disk, then you will not be able to play them. I know Tank Tank Tank had a disk and download option, but I think Zen pinball was download only. If they were both download, and the previous owner bought them, then you should be able to redownload them from the eShop.

If they are on the main Wii U game screen then most likely they were on an external hard drive that someone kept when they sold the Wii U. And then you still should be able to redownload them from the eShop.
Either way, I would see if you can redownload them.

I forgot to answer your question, no you cannot suspend software like the Switch can. Especially after the unit has been powered down. The only way to "suspend" per se is when you hit the home button during a game and that briefly suspend the software to check the manual or a few other things, but it is only suspended until you go back into the game or turn off the game or console.

I tried to download it from the eshop and it wouldn't let me. The previous owner must own it, so it won't let me do anything. Bummer

Hey, how did you change your profile pic? I don't see anywhere where it lets you change it. How do you do that?

They must have been disk copy of the games then. Bummer.

About the profile picture:
Click on your name in the upper right hand corner and it will give you a few options. Pick "Your Account"
Then from that page click on Profile/Settings
Then from there look for profile picture and you can upload what you like.
