Well, I'm not the best to ask. When Brawl's release date was getting close, I sold Melee and all my Gamecube stuff so I'd be really excited when it was here.
...then it was delayed again.
So by the time it came out, I didn't really remember Melee's physics being particularly different. And since then, I haven't really played Melee but on rare occasions.
This felt like Brawl, but that could be because I don't have another comparison fresh in my mind. It was definitely not as floaty though.
@Adam Ah okay thanks I've been hearing a lot of conflicting things which why I wish I could try it myself though I've heard there is lag when landing (by everyone I've talked to).
That is the sort of thing I wouldn't notice, partly because I'm not that detail oriented and partly because I was too focused on figuring out my characters to appreciate such nuance.

@Adam I probably wouldn't be able to tell myself with only a few matches oh well I'm getting it regardless just wanted to get an idea of the mindset I should be going into the game with.
Speculation time: Everyone's pretty confident that Mr. Game & Watch is in, but what if he wasn't the only fighter to be shown at the end of another newcomer's debut trailer? I mean, what if Dark Pit is his own individual fighter with a separate move set from regular Pit? There are definitely enough weapons and powers in Uprising to make up a third move set, even excluding ones that are already items or in Pit's/Palutena's attacks. Of course his main weapon would be his Silver Bow, but I can easily see him using other attacks with an Ogre Club, Dark Pit Staff and EZ Cannon. Maybe he could recover using Pandora Power and have some sort of "not usually this effective" face-kicking aerial attack! And this is all limited to things from the games story. Anyone who has played Uprising knows how there are ridiculous amounts of options available for the fighters (and ergo the two Pit-Stains) to use on each other. At the very least, we know Dark Pit is going to be in the game in some way. Not only was he in the Palutena trailer, but he's also in the official artwork for her reveal and Tom kind of teased him in his recent Amiibo Miiverse post. They're going to have to record new lines for him anyway, they might as well go the extra mile.

Doubt D. Pit will be his own new character. I'm guessing he'll be an alt form of Pit, or a boss character. (alt seem more likely, lol) Same goes for Viridi, I mean seriously, why tease me with her voice Sakurai?! TwT lol

I like the part where he apparently is only providing voice for 3DS, but has a full role for Wii U. Adam Howden doing mo-cap for Shulk on Wii U confirmed.

I went to smash fest both days and got a total of 8-10 matches on the wii u version. I would say it's 75% melee 25% brawl. A lot faster than brawl, but not quite melee. It definitely feels more balanced, as I played several characters (but little mac was my personal fav)

I played as her once, and I can tell she's awful for beginners, but I guarantee she's going to be like Olimar in the sense that if pass the steep learning curve, she'll probably be one of the best, especially with combos and recovering.
