Thats a popular misconception. Zelda is very popular in japan. The problem is that zelda on home consoles hasn't been a big seller, while handheld zelda games do very well. Look at the sales for Link between worlds and the DS Zelda games. Before Brawl Toon Link was one of the most requested characters. That being said, yes, Kirby is very popular in japan. I wouldnt be surprised if he and link beat pikachu.

Im actually surprised that you would look at the data and say it points to zelda not being popular. Most people without knowledge of videogames would see a character at number four as proof that they are very popular, but many western gamers seem to really hold on to that. Let me as, if the same poll were given in an American or British magazine, and keep in mind this poll was not limited to Nintendo characters only, would Link come in fourth? Would Zelda be the top female character on the poll?

Anyway, its just like what I said before, Viridi is above Palutena. Also Chrom is above Ike and Marth.

Its funny how the gap between the top three characters, Pit, Mario, and Kirby, is so close, it drops of a bit with Link at four, and then another big gap between where Link stands, and Luigi and pikachu.

March 14 - Yoshi
Nintendo Direct - Palutena

I hope we get a Nintendo Direct on the 23rd of March, because this date marks the second anniversary of Kid Icarus: Uprising and Palutena could be revealed in it..... I hope.

Unlikely, since it is a Sunday and they never reveal anything anything on weekends, but March 21st (2 days before) seems a perfect date

Im thinking, at least at the rate we've had recently, there might be a reveal before March 14. Seems like a bit of a wait when the reveals for a while now have been two weeks apart.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but deosn't Rare have copyright over K. Rool? And they don't seem to make games for Nintendo anymore (Wnat proof? Retro Studios make DK games now)

That wouldn't make any sense that Nintendo would let Rare own the copyright to the recurring bad guy from one of their own series.

@SG9000 King K. Rool was in Mario Super Sluggers for the Wii, so maybe not (Or maybe they paid for him to be in the game, IDK)
