I've got to say, I love the new Home-Run Bat design. It's shiny, vibrantly colorful, and looks as dangerous as it is. Also love the Smash logo on the handle, which is a nice touch.
The new bat looks pretty cool, but I also liked the old bat.
I liked the old bat as well, but the new bat isn't bat either.
Actually, in case of SSB4, I love the new look. It just fits to the overall look of the game. Just look at the other 2 item changes. :3
Everything looks bright and colourful. Almost cartoonish!
Well, I think Toon Link feels happy in this world.
I know I shouldn't get my hopes up and it'll probably just be Diddy, but being the first Direct of the year, and after a month without one at that, I'm allowing my expectations a little more leash then usual.

Very interesting, and in two different ways no less! For one, what is Peach doing there? This must be why Sakurai specifically mentioned that her moves might change, as this looks like an entirely new move. Rainbows have never been part of her moveset before. Second, since there is no announcement for Diddy, that could mean a potential newcomer reveal. Sonic was featured in a Nintendo Direct, so this may not be the case and could only be so Sakurai can show Diddy in the Direct. On the other hand, as DestinyMan mentioned, it could mean that Diddy and Dixie are paired together. This explains why it would be featured in a Direct, since half of the team is a newcomer. I'm still not sure on that as pairing them together Zelda/Sheik style wouldn't seem right to me, but we shall see.
