I vote sequel. Sunshine had some great ideas but a lot of tedious levels as well, best to take the best of what was made a few years ago and improve it than simply remaster the flawed game that's there.

I think there's a significantly better chance they'd give sunshine the wind waker HD treatment or just upload it on the wii u eshop than make a sequel of the game; though, I'd definitely be happy with said outcome. I just don't think a sequel will ever happen.

For the record, Super Mario 64 frontloaded its best levels, and the last group ranged from mediocre to flatout awful. I actually felt like Sunshine was an improvement over that, and the Nintendo has only gotten better at it since. I think they could do a sequel well, that's for sure. It would need some major additions to keep it fresh, but that goes without saying.

I'd say both Mario 64 and Sunshine had decent to good levels, the latter just had less of them.

I'd especially contest the idea that the later levels in Mario 64 weren't as good. Wet-Dry World? Tiny Huge Island? Tick Tock Clock? Pretty good if you ask me, with a lot of creative ideas.

On another point... I really hope a remake would add some of the content from the beta. I mean, it's unlikely, but damn these levels sound cool:

Elevate Rock
Warship Island
Fire Shrine
Hotel Lacrima

I wish they weren't cut...

Yes, I'd say those were all immensly frustrating;y designed stages for all the wrong reasons. I did not have any fun playing them, and I dread them every time I play through Super Mario 64. Heck, last time I simply stopped playing when I got to them. And you forgot the last two, which were the worst of them all: Tall, Tall Mountain and Rainbow Ride. The latter I was never even able to complete a single star, especially in the DS version.
