@WaveBoy I agree with practically everything you just said, especially about Wario Land Shake It!. Though I will give NSMB2 a chance because it does shake the formula up a bit with the coins and online modes. Plus I need more games for my 3DS, lol. Rayman Legends totally crapped all over NSMBWiiU's reveal at E3, in my opinion.

Easily my favorite Wii game with Metroid Prime 3 not too far behind. WLSIT! imo is groundbreaking to the 2D platformer Genre because of those amazing tilt/motion controls. On a Lag free Tube CRT SDTV they blew me away just as Prime 3's(Obviously more so, a revolution to the first person genre) did. The two control methods that made my eyes jolt out of my noggin'(lol) had to of been that Wario Saucer/rocket flying device where you tilt the remote ever so slightly to manouver the jets and Wario's trippy Boxing glove wielding vehicle. :p

Phenomenal stuff and again ground breaking to the genre...WLSI benifted enormously with motion controls and shows how much more intuitive and fun the genre can be with them.

Forget the nostalgia and old school Wario Land games, this Wii sequal completely dominates the previous entries in the franchise no question!
Also, anybody down for a 'Super Mario Clay bros'? :p I would take such an idea in a he-man heart beat over modern CG NSMB Mario any day of the flippin flinstone week. lol

Rayman Legends looks like a lot of heart and soul was poured into it just like Origins. The amount of depth and layers added to environemnts is outstanding and would be a total visual fiesto had it been 3D capable on the big screen. And fine, ya, i'm still a little excited for NSMB2. :p After all I'll be getting it in combination with the DSXL like most of us will be and that overall will basically raise the excitment x5. I never get sick of Mario(or classic mega man) not even when a series such as NSMB has lost it's creative and distinct touch. We better not get another NSMB sequal though....4's enough, a 5th would be ridiculous.

I don't get the point in feeling sorry for lower quality games just because they're creative. Brings me back to that whole High Voltage discussion. Games don't deserve to sell well just because they're creative or something different.

Wario Land Shake It is FAR from "low quality" if that's what you're implying. You may not enjoy it, but that doesn't mean it's of low quality. I don't like certain games, like the lame "Tales of" series, but I'm not going to say "Oh, it's low quality because I don't like it".

The only reason I can think of that WL: Shake It didn't sell well was because there really was no marketing- besides that neat Youtube video where Wario destroyed the whole webpage. Poor marketing leads to poor sales. Not poor reviews leads to poor sales.

(Example: Dynasty Warriors, Carnival Games)

Wario Land Shake it! low quality? Now there's the laugh of the day. It's 'quality' far suprasses NSMBWii's in every single department imaginable. 'GoodFeel' = Quality. Now the core platforming & controls of NSMBWii are great and all, but those 2 things aside it doesn't exactly do anything exciting or 'new' for the genre where as Shake it does in spades. I still like NSMBWii, it's possibly the tightest controling SMB game there is(2 aside, but it's a completely different entry in the franchise) and the later stage design is top notch as it should be considering SMB1-World were released Neons ago.

Wario Land Shake it! is also one of the most gorgeous looking Platformers ever made, possibly my favorite actually. The Hand drawn art looks beautiful. And the stage design is very very clever and flat out brilliant especially when you're trying to complete the objectives. Plus, the challenge far exceeds NSMBWii's there's no question about it 'again' IF you're aiming to complete all of the objectives which makes Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse in comparison seem like a walk in the Drac' Park.

Both are fun platformers, but WLSI was a little innovative revolutionary side scroller all thanks to it's brilliant Tllt/motion controls. Kirby's Epic yarn had a couple of awesome little touches like the motion tilting Fire Truck hose. B-)

There's a difference between The Conduit and Wario Land Shake It!. The Conduit is a generic first person shooter trying to be something it's not. Wario Land Shake It! is a platformer that executes almost every aspect of the genre flawlessly.

Then again, I'm sure you've never played it so... you wouldn't know.

Which is most likely the case.

Lower quality, people. lol

I hate when I have to explain how words work. Like when comparing the two Mario Galaxy games, one is lower quality.

I have played Wario Land and that doesn't change anything. Wario Land was not received as well critically as Mario Bros. So I'm not sure why people think it should sell more. I don't believe anyone owes the developers of lesser quality games just because they're more 'creative' than a higher quality game.

Maybe we wanted it to sell more because we thoroughly enjoyed it?

I also doubt you've ever played it, lol. :D

"B-b-but guys stupid game journalists liked this game more than this game, that's important for some reason!"

also some advice. A decent way to not be easily mocked is to have a sense of humor and be aware that what you are saying isn't the most flawless idea ever said by man. Just saying.

How am I complaining by saying Mario Bros. deserved to sell more units? And how am I backpedaling by sticking with the same thing I said originally? lol

I may have to explain how a few other things work as well...

No matter what, Wario Land just can't compete in sales when stacked up to mario no matter how much better the product is.
And i highly HIGHLY doubt the reviewers for WLSI tried to complete most of the objectives, probably not even half of them...It's kind of obvious when the main complaint was the short leangth of the game, which is actually doubled or more so again when trying to score 100% They most likely just skimmed through it while completely missing the real meaty and challenging portion of the game and called it a day. It's a 10/10 in my eyes. SMBWii however i'd nail with an 8.5 - to an extremely low 9.

And before I forget, reply to the first part of my post oh-wise Alex.

Metacritic.

Take opinions seriously people. Your opinions are inferior to the opinions on Metacritic. Remember that.
