Topic: super mario bros 2... 2

so you know how super mario bros usa was so different and had the vegetables and stuff. they should make a gameplay sequel to it. that should be the next wii u mario game and then they make galaxy 3 or sunshine 2 or 64 2 or maybe something original. it would be a cool game tho mario returning to dreamland or whatever its called to fight wart. isnt it called subcon? what do you guys think/want this to be called?

EDIT: heres the story.
After the events of new super mario bros u and new super luigi u mario is so worn out from going on that long quest in mario u and being locked up in the bathroom in luigi u (reference to my luigi u story thread i might have it linked) mario decides to go home for a bit and lay down and sleep. the next day he goes on a picnic with mario luigi peach and blue toad or the toad, and right in the middle of the picnic the earth opens up where the picnic cloth is and swallows the group. little does mario know this is all apart of his dream, but thats a spoiler. so the hole leads to subcon and they find out that wart is at it again. so the group goes through subcon and get to wart, only when they get there the game is only 50% complete. so mario and the gang defeat wart but that wart was actually a fake wart and the real wart tells mario that hes dreaming and then the camera will show a sleeping mario with a thought bubble and all the people in that thought bubble. then wart uses a dream machine to get out of the dream and into real life. so wart comes in the real world bringing all the baddies and the vegatables with him. so the vegetables get all scattered through the real world. mario tells the gang about his dream and wart coming out and they help him reach wart. so mario and the gang have to travel through the mushroom kingdom to reach wart whos at bowsers castle. wart tied up bowser to gain control over bowsers castle. so mario (taking note from mario and luigi dream team) sleeps and the gang throw wart in the dream bubble. they then have to go through more of subcon to reach wart again and then dream mario kicks his butt. then mario wakes up and everything is fine again. then mario goes to his house while the credits roll like in a megaman game and then he gets a letter from peach in his mailbox telling him about the star festival or whatever its called in mario galaxy suggesting mario galaxy happens next. or some sorta thing like that. so what do you guys think.

I seriously doubt it.
Super Mario Bros. 2's gameplay conventions are too different from what the series has evolved into. (i.e. It wouldn't make sense for mario to start digging for coins or potions, or use hearts for lives). But, I think they could incorporate more enemies, or turn Subcon into a Subworld for the mushroom kingdom. In fact, I think this could be a great way to expand the gameplay world. Personally, I think the best way to "upgrade" the Mario games is to expand the Mushroom Kingdom's explorable areas and include worlds from previous games to "Warp" to (i.e. Delfino, Subcon, Yoshi's hand-drawn island, etc.)

well it could be more traditional too, like having the powerups instead of hearts and floating coins instead of dug up ones. i mean it didnt make since that mario was in space either right? but it was a great game. people can grow accustomed to the vegatable throwing and all that just like they grew accustomed to traveling on planetoids and planets.

I think mario should go back to rogueport and to the beanbean kingdom!

If they brought back the unbounded creativity of the older Mario games rather than the always-look-the-same mantra they seem to have adopted, I'd be fine with a new Mario game...

y eah it wasnt the black sheep in fact i would argue it was the true mario 1 sequel because it was originally going to be a mario game but it was changed into doki doki panic and then changed back to a mario game. i would say the lost levels was a cash in i mean it didnt really bring anything new to the table. anyways im getting of topic.
