Agreed wholeheartedly. Seriously, us gamers have to be the biggest complainers on Earth...
With that said, I'm happy to see Peach playable and the SM2 mechanic come back.
You know nothing about Mario fans, do you? Please don't say 'us gamers'. You are not part of this 'us' you speak of.
There are two ways this can go:
A) Nintendo can opt to replace our classic 3D mario 64/sunshine/galaxy-esque games with, well, this crap. In which case I will opt to stock up on copies of 64/sunshine/galaxy and play them endlessly while ignoring all this 3D Land/World nonsense.
Or, they can opt to consider this series separate and, in the near future, create a new 64/sunshine/galaxy-esque game, in which case this game seems very creative and I say: "Go Nintendo".
@PEDRO12 You are such a pathetic excuse of a fan. Criticism is welcome in all industries, but complaining does not equal critiquing. Not only did you spew out the same senseless garbage I've heard time and time over again from the "whiner", but you dare push this one step further and separate yourself from the people who complain because you're "so mightier and higher" than anyone else just to act like everyone else who's complaining?
Don't drag "Mario fans" into this; YOU are not part of this "us" spoken of.
the big advantage this game has is it at least has some things from Super Mario World so that puts it above Super Mario 3D Land which has NOTHING to do with Super Mario Land
I am a little bit disappointed, of course. I was hoping the Wii U's power would allow them to do large scale levels similar to 64/Sunshine. However, it does look like a lot of fun.

There is a very fine line between critiquing and complaining, a line that can only be see by the complainer / critic themselves. In this case, choosing not to approve of a completely new direction in a significantly old video game series, a direction taken for the single purpose of increasing sales and making money, is nothing short of criticism.
No more 2D or 2.5D games for now Nintendo. I wanted true 3D games like Sunshine.
How is this not a 3D game? Change all the levels into planets and it's suddenly true 3D?
I know it uses a 3D engine, but I feel as if it is not "true 3D". In games like Galaxy and 3D Land, Nintendo lays it out in more of a pathway style, so although you don't know exactly where to go per say, it's not as much of a mystery of where you have to go in games like 64 and Sunshine.

That was a well-rounded rebuttal, good sir. I wasn sure you could respond with something so concise after the idiocy of your last post.
This game does look pretty fun, but I was hoping similar to Galaxy, 64, and Sunshine. The 3DS game was fun, but O was really hoping for just modern. I am partially disappointed, but I guess this is fine.

All the Mario games seem to share too similar names anymore...

I for one, am extremely excited by this. I adored 3d Land, but it had plenty of flaws, flaws which I assume this game will address. Cat Mario looks better than tanooki as well.

CAT MARIO IS THE CUTEST THING! And I'm gonna be honest here, Charles Martinet was losing his energy. Now he's gonna spend five hours in the recording booth making cat noises. This is a good thing.
