Topic: Strange buzzing from my Wii U machine...

Hello. For about a week ago my Wii U has started with a strange buzzing sound. I've had my Wii U since spring 2014. Here is a video about how my Wii U now sounds like with its strange buzzing;

Why I am worried is because I've heard about people's Wii U's freezing while buzzing (even though this is not really the same buzzing sound which my Wii U gives out). I know, the buzzing isn't that loud but it's a different sound from what my Wii U used to sound like. As you can also see from my video, the buzzing stops once I put my hand on its side, and then stops again when I put my hand on top of it.
And then I also wonder, is it normal that a Wii U starts buzzing like this? Maybe it's just me being paranoid. But I'm still both worried and concerned...

Please, someone. Give me your answer/reply about this.

Thank you so much for your reply!!! I also forgot to say in my post that you should turn up the volume. It sounds like some sort of fan-buzzing or something.
So you say your Wii U makes alot more noise? How is your Wii U working yet, is it working well? Does the Wii U make extra sound etc as it ages?

Does it make the same sound if you lay it flat/horizontal?

@ZeldAlice It's chugging along fine. I've never had a system broke on me. Just make sure to clean the fans once in a while. I clean them by carefully blowing air through the vents with an air compresser, but a decent vacuum cleaner will do the trick as well.

I don't know. I also don't have any room for it to lay it flat/horizontal.

That's good! For how long have you had it? Also and again, should I be worried about the sounds mine makes? Oh, and I also checked my Wii U machine, I noticed some vents where a Little fan is fully visible. Should I vacuum it there? Because, I would never dare to open up my Wii U machine, I hope I won't need to.

@ZeldAlice I got mine just before Pikmin 3 released, that's Summer 2013? It's been a while. There's a little fan on the back and some vents on the side; do they look dusty? The problem with dust is that heat can't escape that well and the fan has to work harder to cool the system down; as a result it's noisier. If it's looks fine, I wouldn't bother, but trying to get some dust out of the system once in a while doesn't hurt either. The way I used to do it is use the nozzle with the bristles on the vacuum to carefully suck some of the dust out of the vents. You don't need to open your console, but even if you don't do anything at all; I'm sure it'll be fine.

That's cool! And I can't really say if it looks dusty or not, but next time I vacuum my room, I'll be sure to give my Wii U a little blow. Thank you that I don't need to open the Wii U machine up, I'm no good with such things. And thank you so much for the suggestions and the replies!

Today I played both Mario Kart 8 and a Wii game on my Wii U without it buzzing. I haven't tested the other games yet but I remember that I was playing Hyrule Warriors when the buzzing started. What could this mean?

Sounds fine to me, maybe the fan is a bit forced due to dust accumulation? If it helps you, my Wii U sometimes sound like that when I'm playing Bayonetta 2 and I'd never had a problem.
I imagine it sounds louder when the console is processing something intensive, like detailed graphics or too many enemies on screen.

I have a chronic lack of time, for everything.

Now playing: Okami HD, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

I'm gonna go ahead and say something hear...
My Wii (not U) back then started giving off a small buzzing noise that got worse later on...

Anyways, you might want to have it looked at...because my Wii's disc drive eventually died out completely.

So your Wii U machine sometimes sound like that too? And oh yeah, it seems logical and reasonable that the console may be processing something intensive, like you said.

My regular Wii also started to give out a different sound than what it used to, but it never broke on me. Plus, a Wii U might be different than a Wii. In any case, I dunno where I could even have my Wii U checked at. I live in Sweden, you see.
The other thing is that, to most people I've talked to there has allways been the question if it's dusty or not.

Today I started playing Hyrule Warriors again and after a little while the Wii U machine started buzzing again. At first I thought that I was playing too much Wii U and that why there was no buzzing when I played both MK8 or a Wii game was because I hadn't played the Wii U for a little while. But now it seems that's not the case. Because when I was away for vacation, my Wii U was left at home unused for about 1- and a half week. This means that it seems to be Hyrule Warriors that is causing the buzzing and that it can't really be about dust accumulation perhaps, but more about it processing the intensive graphics etc.
Or what do you guys think?
