I got the Wii U Deluxe Set on Christmas 2012. I was addicted to NSMBU, and I was also having a blast with Nintendo Land and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. After Christmas, everyone was calling the Wii U "lackluster" and "weak", and I had know idea why. My friend even said he wasn't getting a Wii U because "he didn't hear very good things from it". What the frick?!?!?! The Wii U is awesome!
People act like the Wii U has been out for a year, when in reality, it's only been out for half that time. "The Wii U doesn't have any good games." Oh really? What about New Super Mario Bros. U, or Nintendo Land, or Sonic & All-Stars racing Transformed, or Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate? What about Bit Trip Runner 2, or Mighty Switch Force Hyper Drive Edition, or the Rayman Legends Challenges App (it's free!). At first, those may sound like weak essential games, but they're all great games. Not to mention: the Wii U is backwards compatible with all Wii games. Also, let's not forget, the Wii U is already home to classics fro the past such as Super Mario World, Kirby's Adventure, Mega Man, Super Metroid, Super Mario Bros. 2, F-Zero, as well as Kirby Super Star, Earthbound, and Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Advance games arriving soon to later this year, too.
The Wii U has also got great upcoming essential games. Super Mario U (3D platformer), Mario Kart U, Yarn Yoshi, Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD, Legend of Zelda U (upcoming 3D Zelda), Super Smash Bros. U, Game & Wario, Pikmin 3, Rayman Legends, Sonic Lost World, Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, and New Super Luigi U, just to name a few. That's a lot! So far, I see twelve games that I'm interested in. TWELVE. And a majority of those will probably be better than the great majority of games available on PS3 and Xbox 360 already. How many games coming to the PS4 or Xbox 720 am I interested in? ZERO. Eat it, Sony and Microsoft.
Also, let me get something off my chest. THE WII U IS NOT A PERIPHERAL. It is a brand-new system! Saying the Wii U is a peripheral is like saying the Super NES is a peripheral to the NES, or the Game Boy Color is a peripheral to the Game Boy, or even saying the Xbox 360 is a peripheral to the Xbox! Come on people, get real!
All of you people who say, "Nintendo's going to become a software only company", well look at how the PS Vita is doing! Not one of my friends own a Vita! NOT ONE. One of my friends own a Wii U, but one is better than none. You Sony fanboys have no rights to call the Wii U a bad system when the PS Vita is doing no better. The Wii U has a storm of great games hitting us this year and next year, and despite the Xbox 720 and PS4 being more powerful, their lineups aren't as powerful as the Wii U's. Plus, Sonic Lost World is a Wii U and 3DS exclusive. You just got served, Microsoft and Sony fanboys. Rock on, Wii U! Rock on Nintendo! Rock on, 3DS! The Wii U is already a nice system to own, but it's only going to get better. So stop criticizing the Wii U, you Nintendo trolls!
Games I'm playing currently: Legend of Zelda: A Link Betweeen Worlds, Tearaway
Games I'm excited for: Super Mario 3D World, Super Smash Bros. 4, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8

Don't let it get to you, kid. No matter what, there will always be someone out there to hate Nintendo. You just gotta ignore the haters and just play what makes you happy.
Just to nitpick, but...criticism isn't exactly a bad thing. True criticism can be very good in fact. Without criticism, nothing would get better. I don't think criticize is the word you're looking for.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Fanboys will always hate the opposition whether its a rival sports team, video game console or soft drink. You just have to ignore them and enjoy what you enjoy thats all. Don't let them get to you thats all.
Now if we can all just move on and stop with the Stop hating Nintendo and Nintendo is doomed threads I am sure that there are better things to talk about.
I was hoping you were sarcastic, but then I saw your other posts. You obviously haven't been paying much attention to the internet if you honestly think no one criticises Sony or Microsoft all the time.
Vita owners can say the Wii U is crap. It's not like we can duct-tape their mouths or something. I think you could've just mentioned the Vita as to why Nintendo won't just become a software company.
If Sony is surviving with a failing console, why can't Nintendo?
I think we have to constructively criticize all technology and policy that we find flawed. In fact, I have yet to own a perfect piece of technology that I have not criticized. As a Wii U owner, I really like the console and I am patient (I have been an early adopter before and I know the risks and the fact that you have to wait for the new platform to catch on) but I will criticize it because I believe it has a lot of space to improve. Of course what I see a lot of on the Internet is people making irrational alignments, generalizations, and exaggerations (these aspects of the Internet and press will unfortunately not go away because we have reasons to, either ones we are aware of or not aware of to make these weak arguments); thankfully there are also many people who are willing to rationally argue and backup their criticism as well on the Internet and in the press.
You seem to critise the other systems games for not suiting your tastes, yet then tell others that they can't critise Nintendo for the same reason and then call them fanboys and trolls if they do exactly what you just did.

This is the best post in the whole thread thus far. Just saying.
