Topic: still worth getting a Wii U?

wow a lot of great advice..
looking for a controller, i see the hori battlepad get good reviews but it needs connecting to a wii remote?
so if i want a controller is it a simple case of just getting the pro controller? or is there a usb controller i can use because im not that fussed about wires

so is the pro controller the only option?

I like the pro controller, but the classic and the tablet get used more often in my house.
