I have just been thinking about how much I loved Star Fox and Mass Effect and had an idea wouldn't it be cool if Nintendo kept the Arwing sections but also included some really good third person action as well?? Maybe introduce some light rpg elements and make it a real adventure game I'd love being able to get stuck in as Fox before taking to the skies for some Arwing action. If Nintendo did this how do you think they would implemt it?? Thank you for reading my thoughts
But seriously, what I love about the Star Fox series is the fact that each game feels so unique with only small connections to each other. I wouldn't mind someone taking another swing at Assault mechanics, just more modernized. So yea, I wouldn't mind some of the stuff you suggest. I just wouldn't want it to play too much like Mass Effect, I would want more vehicle combat than what Mass Effect gives.
I was thinking of Assault but I was thinking more like Star Fox Adventures or Beyond Good and Evil good choice of game thought Assault was so much fun!!

Assault and Command are tied for my favorite Star Fox game actually lol
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I'd love to see project guard worked in some how as well giant robot looks like it could stand alone as a game but guard I think would be better included in this. Also that is what I was thinking likebmass effect meets star fox adventures but with more vehicle combat
Assault was the best I think. If I remember right it was made by Namco?? It goes to show third parties can be trusted with there main IPs sooooo let's give Namco a chance at F Zero already!! But regarding Star Fox lols I think the rpg elements would be great for it leveling up fox and his arwing and being able to explore areas of the system would be great fun
If I thought anyone in the game industry could combine Star Fox and Mass Effect well, I would've probably suggested it already. I don't know anyone who is qualified to make both a good shoot em up and a good story driven 3rd person cover shooter. Maybe if both parts were made by different devs, I dunno.
Lets not nuke the Star Fox franchise again. We only have two Star Fox games which are deemed classics, Star Fox on the SNES, and Star Fox 64 on the N64, and for good reason.......Keep it in the air, and mostly on rails, call it a day.

maybe add some on-foot to multiplayer for DLC if they test it for like a year+ to make sure it actually controls like enjoyable video games

(Jaw Drops) Whoa,ok. I have the same idea as you, with minor differences. Instead of using Fox, the cast is a list of characters that never got enough screen time. Like how Fay and Miyu got scrapped in Star Fox 2. Bill, Grey, Katt and some new ones to expand the Star Fox world and keep it fresh.
Wavedashes behind you Got some of dat Maylay?

Keep starfox away from my Mass Effect! Mass Effect is great because it's one of the most unique mature casts and stories in an RPG. No cartoon animals allowed!

I don't think people are wanting the story mechanics of Mass Effect but the scale, meaning lots of areas to explore and many locations to visit.
