Square Enix: Makes DS and 3DS exclusive KH games.
Next Year: Won't port new KH title to Wii U.
Silly Square Enix, you must be very confused. u__u

@DePapier This will sell like poopydoodledums on PSone anyway. Unless they add a First Person view, armoury of guns, explosive red barrels and dudebro multiplayer then we can safely say that KH3 will be stacked in a bargain bin near you not long after launch

The way I see it, by the time the game will be close to being released (2015-2016) and after some experiments with FFXV, SE will be in such a financial situation they'll need to put the game on the Wii U anyway, so I'm not really concerned. But Nomura knows where his senseis await him if Squeenix were to fall into pieces: I know Monolith Soft's door would always be wide open for him...

I wouldn't say that they are lying. The "candle" developers are putting extra effort in their game to modify the Wii U's Direct X10, making it work like it's X11. It is not actually Direct X11, but the performances are similar.

Oh, and to the people that comment "They can easily bring it to the Wii U", I'm gonna have to ask... are y'all game developers? Because how would you know?

Oh, they didn't even lie. They didn't say anything, it was misinterpreted. Can you show me verbatim the words of a Square Enix representative on the matter?

My response was to the OP, didn't I just say I don't agree of the lying part? Because I know they didn't.

I think they just wanted to make excuses for not bringing their major titles to Wii U. KH3 would have been amazing on WIi U so creatively they've missed a big opportunity. Oh well nothing new here...

Very good point. So many games would be amazing with GamePad usage (and Miiverse etc), but then again so many games could also have been amazing with Wii Remote. Developers simply sucked and didn't share Nintendo's vision.

Ya, there was never any confirmination. People just like to speculate, then everyone gets caught up in arguments on whether it can or can't. I just look at Mario Kart 8 or X from Monolith Soft, then look at FF15 or Kingdom Hearts and it's all good.

Not a surprise, really. A lot of companies are trying to jump ship because of image and sales regarding the Wii U. KH3 could run on Wii U, but holding out for Xbox One and PS4 makes KH look more "hardcore" and "powerful".

Dude, it's a few fifteen-year-olds with giant keys fighting with Disney characters. Doesn't exactly scream hardcore and powerful as it is. Not knocking it for anyone who likes it, just saying.

Personaly I don't really care about them not porting it, all I care about is the fact that they lied about it.

A lot of third parties lied about a lot of things about the Wii U.. the fact is they just don't want to really take the time and effort to work on the code.. to take advantage of certain things the Wii U has to offer... though yeah the lackluster sells of the Wii U does not help either.. but I am sure if the Wii U sold 130K a week for the rest of it's life.. they would still find excuses to avoid the Wii U.. But I wholeheartedly agree.. KH is not a hardcore title.. if anything it rests between hardcore.. and casual.. swinging more towards casual in it's set up and what not.. and it just does not make any sense what so ever.. that a game like KH should not be on a Nintendo console.. and before you go bringing in the numbers sold on various Nintendo devices of KH.. Understand this.. portables.. and spin offs.. do not foretell what a console and actual part of a main series will do.. actually KH is one of the few SE games that would do very well on Nintendo consoles..

Same here. I was playing around comparing KH3 to The Wind Waker HD and FFXV to X so I showed them to a friend of mine. and he just admitted there wasn't really a difference.

I agree with the former but FFXV is arguably the most impressive (technically) looking graphics I've ever seen and one of the few next gen games that looks like anything resembling a leap comparable to previous generations. Of course, if there is any justice, Final Fantasy XV will fail if it's another hallway nonsense story game that just happens to be gorgeous while X will make ALL the money if it lives up to the hype. So if people think they're the same graphical quality, I certainly won't complain even if I disagree (to a point, X is still amazing looking).

I honestly don't understand why people would expect the U to get a main KH game. The 'Cube never got either of the first two, and it was pretty capable of running them. Given that the U has a very low install base right now, isn't capable of running the game without massive amounts of porting work (And even then it would likely be a far inferior version in many aspects), and the lack of success selling most 3rd party games on the Wii, it just seems to me that a version on the Wii U is simply unfeasible.

Indeed! I doubt I'll get it after FFXIII's awful gameplay and story

There are things in X that look better than FFXV, though. Based on that old trailer from a few years ago, X looks better. That's when it was still called FFversusXIII, but the visuals haven't changed much.

What I get from that, is that SE has been making the game for a long time now, and the PS3 couldn't handle it, so they just ported what they had already to the PS4, and improved it where they could.

The outdoors look better in X, but FFXV has more accurate hit boxes and looks better by a little, but not by much. Regardless, they both use 2D sprites in some areas, and so do alot of other games for 8th gen, too.

I see Wii U possibly getting Kingdom Hearts III if/when it picks up, because it's more of a Nintendo thing than Microsoft, anyway. If they released that 1.5remix for Wii U, I could see the game doing even better since the whole main series would be on Wii U at that point.

Really though, I don't see the Wii U having any problems after the end of this year. Nintendo's got some games that rival the others pretty easily, IMO. I already see some games that the Wii U can handle from the other consoles already, many being indie games that are already multiplatform.

The game that immediately comes to mind is Crimson Dragon when it comes to Wii U's capabilities in comparison to Xbox One, at least. I think the Wii U would be able to run that game. The reason I think that is, because there's already more advanced things going on in games for Wii U than last generation that point in that general direction(bigger areas with better graphics, game using more RAM/memory to make connections between interactions, better textures, etc).

If people don't notice the improvements Wii U has already made in games like Pikmin 3 or Lego City, and the upcoming Mario Kart and X, I'm afraid people can't really tell the difference afterall.

Wii U is a different architecture and a lot less powerful than the Xbox One and PS4 unfortunately. Don't expect this game unless the PS360 get downscaled ports (unlikely by the time this game is released.)

The PS4 isn't launching in Japan this holiday season. Out of the three big next-gen JRPGs incoming, X is bound to be the first to be released, possibly even before the launch of the PS4 in the country.

I'm placing bets now that FFXV and KH3, that I expect to release late 2014 and late 2015 respectively, will end up on the Wii U as Nintendo's console will be established as the Japanese's next-gen console of choice, for both gamers and developers. I now even have confidence we'll see Kojima's MSGV ported on the Wii U after release as the definitive version.

If I lose my bet, Square Enix will just bankrupt so I already know I'm winning.

@DePapier, neither game might be able to run on Wii U without notable downgrading, I espcially don't think FFXV will work on Wii U without really gimping the game.

Well Sony is going to announce the Japan release date next month and its probably going to be early 2014 at the latest and december 2013 at the earliest I don't think the WIi U

Alot of Japanese developers are sticking with the PS3 and given how easy it is to port from there to PS4/Vita I suspect that were going to see the guys who made the PS3/PSP good move to their successors. Also I don't think the Wii U japan's performance will change FFXV since the series is more popular overseas than in Japan, where Dragon Quest rules.

I do think X will be credited with the resurgence of the JRPG genre and even the fact that we may stop calling them JRPG/WRPG and just RPGs. But its said sony wants to get into this market as well with a few games in development.

-Demon Souls 2 (not sure what the point is myself but I hear the demon/souls are somewhat different.)
-Two JRPGS
-1 WRPG
-Deep Down (though i'm guessing this is timed exclusive)

I didn't expect it to get it but then it came to XBox One and it was quite a wtf moment. Microsoft gamers have not had ANY KH games while Nintendo fans have had quite a few so it seemed like such a kick in the teeth. I think Kingdom Hearts would have sold well on Wii U,
