Topic: Sony Taking advantage of Nintendo's problem

The lack of 3rd party support and advertising, and most people not even knowing about wii u, unlike with previous systems that used the more in your face approach. With developers constantly complaining about the wii u's faults, sales are in the gutters, and sony is taking advantage of this. The PS4 announcement wasn't about getting people excited about it or any other things like that, it was about getting developers on their side. Making the developers that are complaining about the wii u, feel more safe about developing on sony's new system, instead of wii u, and since microsoft hasn't whispered a thing about their new system, so sony is in a pretty safe spot above nintendo. If nintendo can't work this out, nintendo and nintendo fans will be in a far worse situation than the gamecube. What are your thoughts?

This post doesn't make any sense. Nintendo has had 3rd party companies on stage with them multiple times, so I don't see how that would be taking advantage if Nintendo has essentially done the same thing before they did. Sony hasn't even shown anything worthwhile IMO.
So the graphics are a little better. OK, gotcha. They're not even that much better. Interface looks like crap, Move will probably still be as useless as is was, and basically the same Dualshock year after year.
I'll buy Sony products, just not PS.

Sony took advantage, but it was over 20 years ago. A lot of people in the industry still remember the way Nintendo treated publishers when they ruled the gaming scene. When Sony showed up, it gave third parties the freedom to stand up for themselves. Nintendo couldn't throw their weight around anymore. I think Nintendo have been paying for that ever since.

With the N64 and the Gamecube they didn't really need the 3rd parties, they put out a lot of great games themselves, but they seem to have lost their way a little. The games are still good, but there should be more of them. Wii development has been winding down since 2010, so I don't understand why they don't have more games to show us on Wii U. People are always telling us to compare the Wii U's start to the 360 and PS3, and while those consoles didn't have many games for the first 6-12 months either, we were seeing plenty of stuff being shown off. The only things we've really seen from Nintendo for the Wii U is Pikmin 3.

Sony always tries to play it safe, but their multimedia capabilities won't save them this time. Too many have already moved over to PC and it's going to take a lot more than a share button to get them back.

@Peach64
We pretty much know just as much info about PS4 as we did Wii U, so in terms of next gen, everything is bare. Not just Wii U.
The graphics are only SLIGHTLY better IMO, and that isn't gonna cut it for the average consumer.

This is why I'm waiting until E3 to decide on having any definitive opinion of Wii U. Nintendo, others too but especially Nintendo, have had plenty of surprises and "oh btw, this is coming out in a few months" moments. We already know we're seeing some of their most popular series for the first time on Wii U, and Retro's new stuff has been absent for a suspiciously long time. If they screw up at E3 and beyond, I'll be the first to call them out on it, but until than, it might as well be nothing as far as I'm concerned. Nothing with Wii U, good or bad, matters until then. I'm not wasting my time like when I spent most of 2011 blasting the 3DS and Vita. Though I've already wasted my time making fun of people for this...crap...

No I'm talking about how many popular titles are excluding the wii u, and how so many developers are talking bad about wii u.

You are the only person who thinks that it was just a slight improvement. That's what's lot of people were expecting but were pleasantly surprised. You can also do a lot more than graphics than with the new power. Devs have said that they were limited and held back by current hardware with level design but not with the PS4. Sony also showed off more first-party games than Nintendo did. I also have another question. Nintendo is also going to miss out on a lot of third part games due to a lack a of power too.

Too bad Sony has a knack for making forgettable games.

Says who? I don't see much of an improvement. And I know other people who agree with me. I'm not saying the PS4 isn't much more powerful, but I honestly feel that, once we hit HD, any improvements to graphics have been small and gradual. The PS4's power obviously can and will be used for much more than graphical output. Still, I wouldn't say he is the only one who thinks it was just a slight improvement, not all of us pay so much attention to graphics that we notice these differences. If I look closely, yes, I see improvements, but I don't notice when focusing on the game itself, only if I look for them.

Sony has first party games? I hardly have noticed.

Yes. Sony barely started designing the PS4 just after Nintendo released the Wii U to take advantage.

With that aside, what else should the company have done to ensure the best outcomes for themselves? Using a two Cell processors taped together and risk losing interest from developers?

It's probably hard to do this, but try to lighten up. I'm fairly confident Nintendo will have plenty of 3rd party support in the future. Probably not more support than Sony, but plentiful still. ^_^

What I do know, is I've been playing games for many years, and I have every right to speak against the fabricated reports that are being released on a daily basis. It's absolutely appalling, all these people think that if you're a popular game publisher, that you are making something out of yourself. Well you're making a mockery out of the game's industry. I'm a Nintendo gamer and I come from the underground; and quite frankly, I'm sick and tired!

And I'm here to go on these rants on message boards...
