On my local CBS news station there was a story that aired last night about Sony preparing to take Nintendo to court because the format of Wii U discs are too similar to Blueray discs....I'm kind of getting sick of all these frivolous lawsuits that Nintendo is being hit with... Has this story aired elsewhere and if you've seen it what are your thoughts?

It's part of the business, unfortunately. I'm sure Nintendo would go after Sony if they could.
Well, WiiU disc have rounded edges and is faster than blu-ray, and it's not actually blu-ray, also it's not Sony's, it's BDA like @19Robb92, so Sony can't sue them, because there is nothing to sue for.
Fun fact: Panasonic, one of the patent holders of Blu-Ray technology and founding member of the BDA, assisted Nintendo in developing and manufacturing the Wii U optical disc.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
Once again, despite no one here knowing any details of the supposed suit or alleged infringement, fancy themselves legal experts and declare that this suit (if it actually even exists) is frivolous, because obviously Nintendo would never do anything wrong.
