To be fair, Sonic games have never been known for their length. If Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations are anything to go by, then Lost World won't be that long either.

The 3DS version was slated to take 7 hours average to complete, which is an improvement over Generations 3DS.

I think the 3DS version of Generations was rushed out, as it seemed like they could have done a lot more with it. Lost World definitely looks like it's had more time in development than that game did.

This could be considered spoilers, so take that into account before reading.

Apparently each world has 4 acts with the bosses being fought at the end of the second and fourth act. I kinda hoped the worlds would be a little bit longer, but the levels look to have a good amount of variety from the footage thus far.

Re: game length, ive played for about 45 mins and cleared 1st world and 1st stage of 2nd world so if there's only 6 worlds then seems like a really short game unless there's going to be a super mario 3d land type situation.i hope so anyway

Yeah someone with an advanced copy streamed the entire game, it was about 5 to 6 hours, which isnt bad for a sonic game. The key here will be secret stages and whether or not you want to replay for better scores

Wow that seems ultra short to me.guess ive been spoiled by content heavy rayman legends.still not too disappointed because I know I'll be replaying levels a fair bit, played windy hill 1 about 3/4 times and saw something different on each run which was a pleasant surprise and really adds to the replay factor.

I think so too. You have to take those reviews with a grain of salt. As much as I've enjoyed Need for Speed, I do not see how it is rated higher than Sonic and All Stars Transformed.... This game looks like fun and I want to support Sonic for its relationship with Nintendo.

Aren't Sonic games "short" anyways?
I wan't to see a person that seriously thinks Sonic Games will have HUGE content.
All Sonic games that pass the usual lenght are plain boring. cough Sonic 06 cough

Well, IGN gave it 5.8 - Mediocre

Wasn't expecting that.

Ign gave it a 5.8, criticizing the lack of speed, poor level design and awkward controls, but praising the branching paths and graphics.
I think this game will be very divisive
Hoping 3ds version is better

The IGN review, while not bad, read like someone mad that the game didn't do what he wanted it to do with minimal mention of how it's actually bad. I'm not particularly worried considering the quite positive reception it got at gaming events.

Let's wait for the people at Nintylife to publish there review. As kkslider5552000 mentions, the guy at IGN is mad because of the lack of speed.

This and the NL reviews are the only reviews that I've liked so far. (there's a couple of positive reviews I didn't like so it isn't score based)

I'm fine with this. If there's any flaws I can tolerate in a game, it's cheap old school difficulty in later levels. Especially for a game that's probably meant to be replayed, I'm fine with this. It is a shame this didn't fully work out as much as it could have though.

Also, some people are apparently worried about Wii U because it isn't as good as Colors, don't be. Sonic has sold really well for much worse (and worse reviewed) titles.

i was 100% sure this game would get good reviews.....
what i've seen so far (gameplay videos) looked great... and i've only read good/positive things about this game until today

definitely disappointing
