Hello everyone. So far, bloggers' impressions on this game have been positive. This game will be available on October 18th in Europe and October 29th in North America. Everyone can contribute to this thread by posting websites' review scores of Sonic Lost World when they show up. Until then, we can just talk about our and others' impressions on the game.

I can't wait for reviews on this game to show up! Hopefully it gets at least 8's and 9's. I'd really like to see IGN rate a Sonic game more than 8.5 for once. (Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed doesn't count.)

My overall impressions on this game is that the graphics are very beautiful and vibrant, especially since it's running at 60 frames per second. Sonic looks easier to maneuver, the level design looks somewhat automated at times, but full of momentum and precision-based platforming, which is what Sonic's all about. The new Color Powers (Crimson Eagle, Magenta Rhythm, Black Bomb, Grey Quake, Ivory Lightning, Indigo Asteroid, etc.) look cool too. All the Zones look distinct from each other and each with its own sense of charm. The Deadly Six are also a good way to shake things up as well. 2-player versus looks like a blast, support mode looks slightly gimmicky but still a nice addition, and Miiverse sharing is a nice touch. The 3DS version is also shaping up to look like a worthy portable counterpart to Sonic Lost World too. (Hopefully Dimps can redeem themselves. Overall, Sonic Lost World looks like a stellar title. Overall, my impressions on this game are a 9 out of 10 from what I've seen. My only complaints are that the level design looks uninspired in some areas, Sonic is a bit slower than usual, the controls look a bit awkward, and Sonic is the only playable character.

Don't get me wrong, the game looks awesome and I've got it preordered for Friday. But I really am worried about the game length, it just looks like it might be an issue

Fwiw a reviewer over at neo gaf says he has put some 40 hours into it. However, he is under embargo and can't say much beyond small stuff. He also makes it clear that he is the kind of person who tries to gt S ranks on all stages. So if you are the type that would play and replay stages to get bettert you will probably get a lot of value.

Review embargo doesn't end until day of release in EU, which is a pain, the cynical side of me wonders why

To be fair, Sonic games have never been known for their length. If Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations are anything to go by, then Lost World won't be that long either.

Thanks for that, also If I'm right in saying the game has online leaderboards which will add alot of replay value to the stages. For some reason I love leaderboards

I played sonic colors for about 20 hours before finishing it at a 100%. I think that is pretty good length wise for a platformer.

The 5 hours it took to beat Sonic Colors were more fun than many, many 20+ hour games.

Exactly. And the levels in a Sonic are meant to be played through multiple times.

Colors also had a lot of replay value for multiple paths and such not to mention the challenge mode. I think my file had about 20 hours when I was done.

If Lost World lasts me anywhere near as long I'll consider it a success.

Meh, still not sure if I'm going to be picking this up.

I'm going to wait for reviews but with the delay of Watch Dogs it's a lot more likely that I'll pick this up.

This game is why reviews exist. Could go either way! Looking forward to it big time but will need to see a review or two first

It's Wario time Yaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Still on the shelf about this. Don't like the embargo on reviews until release. Seems not even Sega have faith in the game - which is a shame. Considering how packed Nintendo's library has become the last month and next month, Sonic needs all the positive PR it can get. Personally, initially I'll be giving it a miss. Still playing though WWHD, Pokemon X, GTA V and then next month you have TLoZ: ALBW and SM3DW... so no time to fit Sonic in! - for that reason, I'm also expecting Sonic to bomb. But time shall tell...

Famitsu scored it 36/40, with 9 points from all four reviewers.

EDIT: That's for the Wii U version. 3DS version scored a 34/40.

All 9's in famitsu is good enough for me, pre-order re-placed.

29.99 on Grainger games website by the way and 5% off if you sign up to their rewards, 28.50 bargain

Ranting Robots gave this an 8.9 I believe, but some speculate they haven't even played it yet.
