Topic: Some good news today for Nintendo. Their stocks are up, and they're worth more than all of sony.

This is very impressive. This is why I laugh at people who say nintendo is doomed because Wii U isn't selling or should go third party. When in actuality nintendo is not going anywhere.

Well you know... I think this song applies well to people who say "Nintendo is doomed" (or conversely, that Sony is terrible, etc.):

This applies very well to those people — I just don't listen to 'em.

Nintendo was always worth more then Sony. The naysayers just hid the truth from everybody. u_u

At one point Facebook was worth note than Google, do t put that much faith into stock my friend.

Still this is a good thing I guess.

Dont even get me started on how misinformed wallstreet is to social media and its actual value. I would say at best the stock market represents confidence in a company, not actually how well it's doing.

I bought some stock in then a day or two after Pokemon X and Y came out because we're doing a stock simulation in civics, and now im up 57,000 dollars from them

The people with some sense of reason say Wii U is doomed. Sony/Microsoft fanboys are the one calling doom for the company at large.

some of them even say "if it fits the pocket it makes no difference" when I say the 3DS is doing great so Nintendo will stay fine

Wii U is doomed but Nintendo as a company is still safe and sound.

aparently those guys(they were MS fanboys) had a theory that handhelds didn't matter in the world of gaming.

Even if Nintendo doesn't find success in the Wii U, they won't go anywhere. They'll do another console and hopefully learn from mistakes they've made. Anyone who thought otherwise was just fooling themselves or they were just plain stupid.

Go read the GameCube article over at dromvle, all the mistakes being made with that system are pretty much being repeated with the Wii U. Most of Nintendo's problems are ingrained in company culture.

The situation is similar, but the way they're supporting Wii U is alot more prolonged than what they did with the GCN.

GCN had way more games than the Wii U does, at this point, I think.

Is there a reason why this thread had to be couched in the trappings of "Look! Nintendo is doing better than Sony!"

It couldn't just be a thread about the good news for Nintendo in general?
