Meh, but it was to be expected.
The Rosalina reveal was cool but kinda weird. The focused on Kirby for a good 10 seconds and the reveal literally had nothing to do with him lol. I was on the fence about the Kirby 3DS game but the co-op sold me on the game.
Four more months until Bayonetta 2.

This was a solid nintendo direct I'd give it 8/10.. It could have used some yarn yoshi and smt x Fire emblem, but overall nice surprises. Nintendo needed this and will still need a good e3 to have a chance to not come in last this generation. They might have the chance to beat xbone if the ps4 dominates over them, which I'm more than certain will happen.

BACK MY PROJECT EVEN $1 HELPS!
@metriodlink really cool that they give you mario deluxe for free just becuase you registered an account And I look forward to Rosalina in Smash but her star seems maybe a bit overpowered as that star can block attacks. And Hyrule Warriors look cool Can't wait to MK8!
Overall maybe the best direct since well I don't know.... is this true? because i already linked my NNID to together and don't see the game anywhere on the 3DS eshop!
i have a wii u! send me a request with the message "nintendo life" in it without quotes.
Not to beat the dead horse, but I wonder why Hyrule Warriors wasn't the VGX announcement instead of Cranky Kong? Made too much sense I guess lol.
They probably thought that showing a rough sketch of a game that is still in development (Hyrule Warriors) to a mass audience was not a good idea. OTOH the unexpected HW reveal now could also be a response to all the negative reactions to the VGX event.
This was so much better than any recent Nintendo Direct, with an exception of January 2013 and the E3 one. Hyrule Warriors was the best thing about it. I thought it was Zelda U.... well, I was close. Kirby Triple Deluxe was a good thing to start with, too. The Luigi's Mansion figure was a nice bonus, too. NES Remix was weird to me. Dr. Luigi, well to be honest, I don't like Tetris-like games. Yoshi's New Island was meh for me. Never cared for the Yoshi games. Chibi-Robo! Photo Finder is the same as Yoshi's New Island. If I was caught up with games in the GCN era, I would maybe played the original and this one, too. Pokemon Bank and Pokemon Transporter, well everything about it that was said during the Direct was released earlier in the week by the TPCi. I wish X was here, but Bravely Default took it's place. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was perfection. The Sonic Lost World DLC will be good for me when the game is $15-$20 for me to get. Wii Sports Club was basically intentional.
Nintendo be trolling the video game community right now. They are supposed to be doomed, not be out there in their own unique, lighthearted, and fun way.
To blessed to be stressed.
80's music makes me feel fabulous.
What Would Duane Do? Rynoggery
I liked it, but I still don't like how they're shoving Rosalina in everything they can, likely so "girls will want to play" because that was their logic with Peach in SM3DW. Rosalina is a joke, and she will be forever.
Well I looked at that as a good thing. Saw it, as well as the 3D World stuffs when that was first shown, and thought that my Niece and sister will like to play as those characters. Same with the Animal Crossing dude but even moreso with Baby Daisy in Mario Kart. Baby Daisy is basically the cutest thing ever.
Personally I'm all about Diddy Kong and Bowser in all of them but Toon Link in Smash. Probably Wii Fit Trainer depending on how she controls in Smash. Also Cranky Kong in Tropical Freeze, I'm definitely happy about that.

Mario Kart looks great, and for once Rosalina is somewhere she flipping belongs. Though something feels off about it, maybe it's the shading, but I don't know.
...wut?

I thought it was pretty awesome, giving some more footage of things I wanted to see and the surprise Dynasty Warriors Zelda looked pretty cool. Other than that the surprise NES remix thing was also awesome, downloaded that after I saw the direct. So overall I thought it was pretty good, not the best of the year but definitely not the worst.

@DarkwingLz Sorry, I should have elaborated. Minor characters are perfect for spinoffs of a single series, like Mario Kart (we both know smash is a different case), but they shouldn't be recurring characters in the main series of games. When was the last time you saw Daisy in a main series Mario game?
Edit: I'm assuming you were talking about Rosalina and not how Mario Kart 8 feels a bit wierd, correct?
You know, I would agree with you if Rosalina didn't actually look like she might be fun to play in SSB. They managed to make her and Luma a character at the same time in the game while making them look interesting. If she was just there by herself and didn't have a decent looking fighting mechanic, I'd agree 100%, but as it stands, I think she's a good addition.

There's also the fact that all of these games let you pick other characters if you want. Even in 3D World you can choose to play as any of five characters and DK:Tropical Freeze lets you pick from four which is much more than the usual two. Much better than the usual deal in New SMB where it has been a choice between Mario, Luigi and two generic Toads. Then there's Smash and Mario Kart where you get a whole page of characters to pick from. Plus the fact that you're right, she's hardly a Peach clone.
