I always see people talking about what Retro Studios, Next Level Games, Monster Games, etc. are all up to or what their next project is. What about Sakurai? After Brawl, he brought back Kid Icarus. After Smash Bros., I'm sure he'll want to work on something other than Smash Bros. for a little while. My guess is, it's probably going to be a game starring one of the characters from Smash, just like how he brought Pit back and then gave him a game. I'm sure while he's making these Smash games, after spending so much time with each character, he likely comes up with ideas for games for all of these characters, but of course, there's not enough time and resources to make everything. So, what franchise do you think he'll tackle next? Could he be the one to make a Starfox or Metroid game? Or will be something obscure again, like Ice Climbers?
The reason I bring this up in the Wii U forum, is I think that even though development on it hasn't even begun yet, I could see it as being released towards the end of the Wii U's life cycle.
Personally, I believe that once Sakurai is done with Smash Bros. 4, he's going to take a nice, long break. Giving that arm of his a rest, and to let go of all the stress that comes with developing a game as beloved and cherished as Smash Bros.
Yes, yes. I understand this. He's going to take a vacation after Smash, but inevitably, he's going to make another game. I'm talking in the future here, guys. Isn't it fun to speculate? Or is it more fun to just go, "Eh, he's busy now so no use talking about it"?
Well, aside from a break, I could see Sakurai making an entirely new IP in the future. He has spoken fairly recently on how he dislikes there being to many remakes, reboots, and sequels to already existing IP in the gaming industry, so it seems logical that he will make a new IP next rather than a revival of an old franchise or going back to Kirby.
Meteos 2 would be great. I don't think there's any reason to assume he will work on a franchise connected to Brawl. Kid Icarus did not come about because he had ideas for it while making Brawl, from what I remember. After Brawl was already done, Iwata asked him to work on one of their franchises, and he said people were so excited about Pit being in Brawl that he thought that would be a good choice.
This was a long while ago, so I may have gotten the details a bit off.
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

Nope, working on a successful franchise at this point meand nothing to me. I fond all of Sakuraid non smash games to be far more creative and interesting than a fourth time party fighter. No doubt Smash will be a good game but I'd rather see Skaurao get carte Blanche to do anything but dmadh bros. Its a bit telling that he didn't even know he was making a smash game.
To put it simply I kind of wish Samurai would tell Iwata to eff off and join the awesome well known developers working on indie games or moving development houses.
WAT!

While I'd love a new Kid Icarus game for Wii U more than anyone in the world, I can't see it happening and I want him to rest for a while. But, I look up to the guy. Whatever his decision is, I'll be fine with it.
