What exactly is Nintendo doing that's different with Amiibo?

Unless you think any game with realistic proportion humans are realistic.

I mean its something relatively different than what the competition is currently doing. No idea where the feature will go so we will have to wait and see.

I was actually wanting you to bring up these games. Insomniac and Platinum have bad track records for sales. Can you really see Sunset Overdrive outperforming Smash Bros with the masses?

Who was expecting it to and why does it need to?

You've never played a Warriors game have you.

I had Samurai Warriors on 3DS, and Legends of Troy on Xbox. I've played a Dynasty Warriors on PS3. They are crap.

Have you played Hyrule Warriors? It is better than any other Warriors game I have played and pretty fun

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Huh? Samurai Warriors: Chronicles was awesome!

Best 3DS launch title (even better than SSFIV3D), IMO. I played it for months, and never got bored of it.

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

The Wii U has the potential to sell decently this season, if Nintendo does two things. One, has a good casual bundle. Give people NSMBU/MK8 in a bundle with 2 wiimotes (mario & luigi themed), and a 50% off download coupon for Captain Toad Treasure Tracker. People will recognize and want Mario, will appreciate the two remotes for families. Then, it encourgaes them to buy a game which will be fun, but again is not free. This gets the casuals in, invites them to the eShop and everyone is happy.
Then, they need to advertise the Amiibo franchise and the bundle, BEFORE the holidays approach. If a kid asks their parents for a toy the week before the holidays, the parents will be less likely to buy. Rather, if the kid is excited for say, a month, before Christmas, then the parents know they really want it. Amiibo could sell well, especially if it is advertised well. If the parents buy a Wii U then they could easily just pick one up.
Again, bundles and marketing are key.

I'm open to believing that. The videos I've seen so far have made it look pretty similar to the other Warriors games.
We know Nintendo won't offer a demo of this so unless it's at Comicon I won't get a chance to try it myself.

I got bored pretty quickly, but you're entitled to your own view. My favourite launch titles were SSFIV and Ghost Recon. I didn't actually get SW 'til a few months ago, actually.

I believe they already did a bundle like that with NSMBU/NSLU and extra controllers. Mainly marketing is what they need to improve and with Mario Kart I think they have done a good job. If they keep improving by the holiday they could really be moving units

These threads are ridiculous. How big is your backlog? Have you brought and played The Wonderful 101, Zombi U, Pikmin 3 and Rayman Legends? If the answer to those is "massive" and/or "well only.." then do I have a drought busting solution for you! And for new owners who just got this for Kart? Because that's a thing and a half. Add Nintendo Land, 3D World, Wind Waker HD and DKC:TF to that list. It's just over a couple of months to fill. The sky isn't going to fall in.

For people who have burnt through their backlog and have brought all the games. Well that's a lot of games man. Why not go outside for a bit or something? Help someone put up a rock wall, dig a trench, plant some trees or something? Why not arm yourself with a list of top rated albums of all time, some headphones and Spotify? Chew through a week and get some culture while you're at it. Why not find some games on some other platform? Because that's quite a chunk of games.

Already do most of that and I don't even do that gaming this much. Plus i'm unsure how speculation about a console's line up for the fall has to do with what we actually do outside the web site. I just thought it would be decent topic of dissciuon and honestly to get a rise out of people since I was in class a tad bit bored.
