It does actually seem like Ubisoft will be preparing to dial back support for the Wii U. Fortunately, I'm actually okay with that, because Nintendo is making VERY strong efforts to woo indie developers. If the Wii U becomes a 1st party/indie machine, I'm totally fine with that.
Fewer and fewer developers are making any money now. After a high-profile game tanks (and it's an issue of "when", not "if"), developers will eventually fragment into smaller houses--like Keiji Inafune's "Mighty #9". Nintendo would be in a fine position in this scenario. Xbox would be in trouble.
Why would Xbox be in trouble when they have the most cost effective indie platform. Any retail unit can be used as a Dev kit and through the ID@Xbox program you get Unity for Xbox One, Windows 8 and Windows Phone for free.
WAT!

the only game "you-be-soft" really gave the U a chance with, was the rushed ZombiU (don't get me wrong, I love the game). Rayman legends was scheduled for February 2013 but pushed to August 29 - September 3 2013, It would have launched unopposed in February, and the drought probably wouldn't have been the issue it became for the U. Instead it launched within a month of Pikmin 3, Disney Infinity, New Luigi U, Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Wonderful 101.
Now with the delay on Watch_Dogs they'll probably release it shortly after MarioKart 8, and U owners that have ps3/360 will probably buy it on that platform due to the earlier release, thus making sure it will fail when it comes to sales on the U.
On the matter of the U only making up 2% of you-be-softs profits, this is 3rd quarter numbers, what did you-be-soft release for the U in the 3rd quarter? Ass-Creed IV: Black Flag, before the release, they announced their gimping of the U version with no dlc, again making many people avoid the U's version. On top of all this think about this: the 2% is of every platform, EVERY, Xbone, 360, Ps3, Ps4, Wii, Wii U and pc, if you only count 360/ps3 they have a combined userbase of (October 2013 numbers) 160 million! Do you still think you-be-soft have been genuinely supporting the U?
I'm still getting Watch_Dogs for the U, but don't paint a picture of you-be-soft giving the U a chance to sell their products.
Watch Dogs will be WiiU's last Major Third Party game.
you make me wish this prediction is right and that Watch_Dogs on WiiU gets delayed to the end of this gen.
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn
